I live in Taiwan and recently just finished a course of clomiphene citrate. But the instructions were in chinese so i think I may have taken it incorrectly. I took 1 tablet 3 times a day separately for 5 days. Was this incorrect and if it is does this mean it won't work? ## Hi everyone is different....my doc prescribed two tablets once a day for 5 days....start taking them on the first day of your menstrual cycle...hope that helps

I am taking Diane 35 for years because of my irregular menstruation and PCOS. I am single and 36 years old. However, I absentmindedly took another pack after I had the pack for this month (Wed) because I thought its already 8th day already (Fri). Meaning I took two days after I finished a pack. I have not had my period until Monday. I just realized it now, its Saturday. There's nothing stating like that case on the instructions and I am worried I will have fluctuating menstruation because of that incident. ## Hi po, nag start ako gumamit ng pills last month, first day ko ng mens. After a week, dumating menses ko. Wal ana din akong mens, since nag pipills na ako, wala siyang ginamit na protection, hangang sa mga sumunod na araw, wala po, kasi inisip ko safe intercoursekame kasi nagpi...

Hi! It's my first day for the 7 free pill days but I wasn't so sure if i'm protected w/o taking any pill so i took 1 pill for my next pack. Should i stop or continue taking the rest of the pills? If i'll stop when will I continue? Is it safe to just continue another pack? Thank u. ## Hello, Jane! How are you? Yes, you are still protected during the 7 free days, there is no need to take pills during that time period, according to NIH instructions. Usually, you should just continue on and start a new pack on the day your normally would, unless your doctor has instructed otherwise. The typical side effects of oral contraceptives may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and spotting. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It's my 1st time to us...

I read the instructions in taking Lo loestrin fe & it says to start the 1st blue pill on the first day of your period on Sunday. However it also said I could start it later than the 1st day of my period but I should be fine after taking 7 blue pills. Will my period be delayed now? Because I was suppose to start the 1st of December and haven't gotten it yet but I feel like it's coming. Should I be concerned? ## I was on it for almost a year. I didn't get my period for 8 months. Then I didn't have a Dr to get anymore so now I get it. I don't remember how long it took for me not to have my period. ## @Ashhbrad, There's really no way to accurately predict whether or not your period will be delayed (and if so, by how many days/months...?). That is something I feel...

Great medicine, although I have only started. Can I skip two days before taking the next dosage? Also I am shocked at the cost. $400+ for a three month supply. Any ideas? ## How is it working for you? You should follow your doctor's prescribing instructions, skipping days may prevent it from working as well as it should. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, bloating and diarrhea. There is a savings program available from the manufacturer. You can find information on it via the Linzess website at Linzess.com click here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Call your insurance. I have never used any contraception pills in my life. And I want to use oralcon. When do I start using it? ## You can start it, at any time. If you start it the first or second day of your period, it will be effective immediately at preventing pregnancy, however, if you start it any time after that, you will need to take it for a full week in order for it to reach it's full level of efficacy. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting, and PMS-like symptoms. What instructions has your doctor provided? ## I started taking oralcon about 12 days ago. I Initially started using it because of the terrible pains i get when i have my menstrual cycle. I have a prescription with instructions to refill every thirty days. I am having a disagreement with my pharmacy who will only do the refill on the 31st day. Problem is there computer starts counting thirty days on the day after the prescription is filled. My doctor said I should still have Meds when I get my refill on the thirtth day. I have no Meds on the thirty first day. Guess I will have to change pharmacies. ## Yes, and to make it worse, there are 7 months with 31 days. That leaves the person without any meds for 2 days. It is incredible that pharmacists can't do simple math and accuse people of trying to fill EARLY when they are not given the proper amount prescribed by the Doctor. It seems the mention of an opiate makes them go weak kneed and stupid. ## Dr upped my dose of P...

So I took an active pill one morning and I threw it up. I immediately take the next days pill. Will this throw off my cycle? Should I use protection until my next period? ## Hi Kit Kat, In many cases when you "miss a pill", I often see instructions stating that patients should take the next one "as soon as they remember", and then sticking with that new schedule to keep your hormones from fluctuating too much. This is what my fiancé does when she forgets to take hers... but I imagine that the protocols for missing a pill wouldn't be any different than if you were to throw one up and then take the next day's tablet instead (being that it's the same thing). So in this scenario I don't see why you'd even have to worry about not being protected since...

I was on vacation and forgot to take my blue pills the first two days. I doubled up the next two days based on what I remember (I was in Mexico with no access to internet). Instructions however say if in week 3 or 4 to just start a new pack. I already doubled up. What should I do?? It was end of week 3. ## Hello, KatKlub13! How are you? Unless your doctor instructs otherwise, you could just continue taking them, but make sure to use a backup method of protection, until you've taken 7 days worth of the active tablets, without missing any. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, PMS-like symptoms and breakthrough bleeding. How are you? What medication has been prescribed? This information would enable me to be more precise. Can you please post back and clarify? I already have contact with my husband. Am I fertile or not? What should i do? ## Hi, Jeryln! How are you? It can be normal for your cycle to be off, when you are new to taking hormonal contraceptives. However, did you have contact with your husband during the week you first started them, without using other protection? Because it takes them a week to become effective, unless you start them the first day of your menstruation. And after not having one, you should have started a new pack on the same day as usual and contacted your doctor for further instructions. If you didn't start a new pack, when you ...

The FDA prescribing instructions state that if you are not on your period, when you start taking it, you will need to take it for a full 7 days, before it will become effective at preventing pregnancy. So, if you want to engage in intercourse during that first 7 days, you will have to use some other form of protection against pregnancy, such as condoms. It says take 2 pills every 4 hours and I have 80 pills how many days is that? ## 2 pills every 4 hours and 80 pills how many dsys ## Approximately 7 days supply, to be more precise, it would come out to be 6.6 days. Unless the instructions say it's to be taken on an as needed basis, if that is the case, then your doctor may think they should last longer. The FDA defines PRN in a very similar manner.
