Zzzquil And Type 2 Diabetes

Is this safe for a person with Type 2 Diabetes? I think it is loaded with sugars but cannot find any exact information about this. I think it might be the reason my sugar count has been up for the past month. I have a problem staying asleep and have been using zzzquil for the past month or so and it seems to help, but if it is keeping my sugar count high I'll have to stop taking it.

One of the inactive ingredients is high fructose corn syrup, which could raise your sugar levels, especially if you're sensitive to it, as some people tend to be.

If you need a sleep aid that doesn't contain it, the active ingredient in this is just Diphenhydramine, 50mgs per dose. Diphenhydramine is available by itself in Benadryl and its generics, as well as in products such as Advil PM and Tylenol PM. So, you may want to try one of them, if your doctor approves.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth.
