Xanax Withrawal From Small Dosage
(Newest replies first)
Updated
My wife used generic Xanax for anxiety and trouble sleeping. She has only taken 14 pills of .5mg as needed to sleep over a period of 1-2 months. Occasionally she would double the dose (1mg). She started experiencing random severe head burning/tingling sensations, sudden fatigue, and similar severe symptoms in the last week. After reading about Xanax w/d she quit taking it cold turkey thinking that was the cause. That was 3 days ago. She still has the symptoms off and on. Could this be Xanax withdrawals or should I be rushing her to the ER for an MRI and CtScan for other possible health problems. And if Xanax is the cause how long should it continue on that prior inconsistent low dose usage.
Any educated response are very much appreciated!

I have also taken them 6 months ago. My withdraw'ls were mostly not getting sleep. That's why I learned to taper off a little every day. If you take 1 mg. every night, Take 2/3 of it for 2-3 days Then 1/2 pill for 2-3 days Although Her Symptoms seem to be something different
Thanks Matt. Where is that natural gaba available? Is your wife doing very well now? Thanks for the reply.
It is natural Gaba. It is very effective for anxiety but might also help with the tingling sensations
Hi matt is that natural Gabba? Or Gaba? Is really effective? Because i have back head tingling sensation..
You are very welcome and I'm glad she's feeling better! I wish you both a fabulous day!
If there's anything else I can help with, please let me know.
Thanks for the response! Her symptoms are decreasing and she is improving day by day. The only other meds she was taking was a natural Gabba which she also quit.
Hello, Matt! How is your wife doing?
I'd suggest she speak to her doctor, as soon as possible, to have herself checked out. There is a slight risk of Xanax causing seizures and other health issues, though unlikely, but it would be best to have it looked into for her own safety.
It is most likely that it was just side effects, they tend to be a bit more pronounce, when someone takes a medication sporadically as needed, because their body doesn't get used to it.
This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and its common side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, irritability and headache.
Is she on any other medications?
