Zanax is not an "upper". It is used to treat anxiety disorder, panic attacks, agoraphobia, night time racing thoughts, all of which I have. I have been on it for years. It does not make me euphoric. It makes me normal. I can function as a normal person.

Yes they do. I take the same thing as you are talking about.

I have been taking Klonopin as an effective preventive drug for panic attacks. Since I started using it, my panic attacks have MAJORLY decreased. Klonopin also takes a full four hours to reach peak dosage in your system so its not going to do quite as much for a panic attack as a Xanax does. If I do happen to end up in a panic attack, I have my small prescription of Xanax. One 2mg pill (my tolerance for benzodiezapines is a bit high) and my panic is severly decreased within 20 minutes.

First of all its "Xanax" and it is most certainly not an "upper". Do three minutes of research. Trust me on this one.

Klonopin works in 1 hr and has maximum peak in 2 hrs and has a half life of up to 48hrs.
Xanax works quicker with peak levels reaching as quick as 1 hour and has an approximate half lkife of 18 hrs.

LOL AGREED BRO>>>

FOR A NEW TIMER TAKE 1 GREEN XANNY BAR. 2MG AND TAKE A SHOT OF LIQOUR AND JUST CHILL. DON'T THINK ABOUT HOW TO TOOK THE PILL JUST FOCUS ON OTHER S*** AND EVENTUALLY YOU WILL SNAP BACK TO REALITY AND BE LIKE MOVING YOUR HEAD SIDE TO SIDE AND NOTICE IT'S SLOWER HAHAHA..THAT'S WHEN YOU KNOW YOU'RE GETTING BUZZED....BUT BEWARE IT GETS WORSE AFTER. CAUTION IS ADVISED AFTER THIS POINT!

AHHHHH SOO MAY GOOD DAYS WITH BENZOS...THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER LOL

ALSO TRY DRINKING A BIG GLASS OF GRAPEFRUIT JUICE WITH 2MG OF XANAX..IT INCREASE THE EFFECTS UP TO 60%

If your anxiety attacks are bad enough that the only thing that will help is hiding in your bed and pray to fall asleep ASAP, there's no point fighting it. You just can't learn how to tame an anxiety attack, no matter how many times you go through it, not on your own anyways. The only thing that works without passing out is to surround yourself with as many friends/family as possible as much time as possible, especially when you feel it coming, before it really hits you.

Regarding Xanax: I've been taking it for about 5 years. The first time, 0.5mg (1/4 bar) was too much. I wanted to feel "normal", instead I was high. That did not last. In fact, the time it takes to build tolerance for Xanax beats every drugs I've ever "read" about, including illegal drugs. Within a couple months, I'd have to take 4mg twice a day just to feel more or less normal. Then I found out about putting it under your tongue, which makes it work much faster. Pretty quickly I got to the max that my Dr would prescribe me (twice the amount my insurance would cover). I could not take more or I would run out, but the effect went down until it stopped working altogether.
I would sacrifice the afternoon and take 6mg or 8mg in the morning, and nothing, except extreme short-term memory loss.

Now the problem really began because it was obvious I had to quit this thing. I was and still am ready to suffer. Unfortunately, after a little research, I found out that this garbage was not only psychologically addictive, but also physically, and quitting cold turkey was life threatening. So I've been looking for methods. There seems to be 2 of them: one takes a year and uses Valium, the other one takes a week and uses barbiturates, and is a bit dangerous. Meanwhile, I am a slave to this magical prescription drug, which has become my only source of anxiety, especially when I take it.

I heard Michael Jackson was taking about a hundred mgs a day towards the end of his life. I have no problem believing it.

So there's Xanax for you (aka Alprazolam). My advice: try everything else before, preferably non-chemical, and if everything else fails, then and only then, find an alternative to this garbage.

You went from .5 mg to 8 mg per day? Hefty dose there? About your insurance covering the additional medicine, Bars cost me 2 cents. Without insurance these Bars would cost 10 cents. If your doctor writes for extras there is no reason you can't pay cash. An insurance company can't tell you what amount of anything, aside from the amounts they don't pay!

Hello, I just read your post about xanax. Can you tell me the name of the pharmacy you ordered it from? I am in the US and am looking for a new prarmacy to order from. The one I used to order from is now gone, I use one from overseas, but would rather buy from within my country, any help you have I could really use.
Thanks so much
Ronnie

The job I have is very stressful, dealing with public, (welfare) I have been taking one valium a night for vertigo for about ten years, I began taking a valium during the day because of panic attack and an inner rage. I went to the Doctor and she gave me xanax, It is important not to mix within the same 12 hours. I went into work after i got them and I felt something heavy on my chest I couldnt breathe and was shaking, I took 10 mg and for the rest of the day I was calm and handled everything, didnt care if it snowed oats. lol I might mention I am 68 and still working

I do not suggest taking 10 mg a day of Xanax while at work, or anywhere for that matter? You are 68, and Xanax isn't really made for inner rage or heart problems. Mixing benzo's isn't a good idea either!

Klonopin saved my life. I've been on it 15 years and my life was a living hell before it.

Carl- Your post (#37) was enough to make me leave this site and not come back. The thread was about Xanax and grapefruit juice; not a whole disertation on the half-life of each benzo vs. another. Sorry man, but somebody had to say it.

@Alex, No problem, but look at 87 :) You are right. It seems most people are off topic, no excuse although, but please, that was 18 months ago. So on topic, yes grapefruit enzymes does potentate the effects of Xanax. Grapefruit appears to have that effect on several medicines either decreasing or increasing the effect. I can not tell the difference, but one with less tolerance maybe able to. With that said, The thread should be closed then Alex, because the topic is a yes or no answer, I have read the effect in books, PDR's magazines and medical references over a few decades as Xanax is not new, but to my mind, has been the last benzodiazipine marketed, since the market is flooded with them and all have been generic for over 20 years. I believe the topic is now answered, so now what. LOL

Sorry Alex, I meant Kim and pointed to your comment as an example thinking it was Kim's. Again, my apologies to you Alex.

Steve on #54 tells the answer correctly and with facts and the topic is over. Since this thread has been answered, I will not reply on it anymore as it will only be off topic comments. Best wishes to all, especially those trying to kick Xanax, good luck. Carl

Take 2, that is equivalent to 2 mg, a common normal adult clinical dosage for adults across America.

Hey Carl,

I lost my psychiatric provider and am having problems getting a new script. It seems my state has put the hammer down on benzo's. I am suffering terrible withdrawals. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks again!

Hey girl... my name is Chasidee. My boyfriend and I both receive scripts of Xanax from our doctor. We have heard about ppl getting their prescriptions via the internet and then at their house through the mail. I was reading some stuff on this website, and saw your post, and just thought I'd ask you how exactly you go about getting meds via the internet and then delivered to your home. If you have a minute and could get back with us on that, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks Doll. -Chasidee & Dave
