Would Switching From Fenofibrate To Atorvastatin Produce The Same Effect On My Cholestorol

I am currently taking fenofibrate. I just switched jobs and my prescription coverage won't take effect for another month. I am out of fenofibrate, but have a prescription of atorvastatin that I never used. Would it cause me any issues if I took the atorvastatin until my prescription coverage kicks in??

They aren't in the same medication class, So, I'm actually not sure how well the switch would work.

Have you checked with your doctor? A quick phone should garner an answer for you.

The Atorvastatin tends to be more problematic, as far as side effects are concerned, it can cause nausea, headache, dizziness and joint/muscle aches.
