Withdrawal Caused By Suboxone

I take 8, 4ml dilaudid a day. This morning I tried to start on suboxone and went into the worst physical withdrawal experience I have ever experienced. I am scared to try again. How long is a safe time frame after my last dose to take the strip? I can't go through that again.

Hello, Aleesha! How are you?

Unless your doctor has instructed otherwise, you must be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone. There's no specific time frame that can be given, it van vary from person to person, but it has to be full withdrawal.

The FDA classifies Suboxone as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
