Just for accurate information, ambien, like Lunesta and the "newer" now quite often used Sleeping Aids, ambien to help you fall asleep, as sonota (only thing I may do wrong is spelling... but not info) The three latest most prescribed sleeping meds for insomnia, Lunesta claims to keep you asleep, once asleep, but unfortunately of the three, none of them KEEP me asleep. They once had very good sleep drugs for insomnia but they were abused, as is ambien and are any drugs people like or double up on not getting the results told they'd get. It's very hard functioning when you can't sleep. The better sleeping drugs were benzos, but these are not benzos. And will not test positive as a benzo. I read someone said Ambien is a benzo. No, that's false. So if you can't take benzos, you're good - what they're known as is a hypnotic type drug, aka in hypnotic family. Reason ambien is abused more than most is people can feel high, more like black out, or sleep walk (do things like someone who's drank too much; though not sure why that's fun - especially when you can't remember doing it). If a doctor feels the benefits of taking a sleeping aid outweigh the risks, then it's legal to take - I don't care who says what. With a valid prescription and if they wanna be jerks about it, and you ALLOW doctor to release same info, they can ask why you need it. But a legal prescription bottle is sufficient, they know this. If it's not prescribed, then know it won't come up as a benzo. Hope that helped. And Cymbalta is NOT an opiate, or benzo. It's actually an antidepressant. They'd need to specifically do a full panel drug test, to pick up stuff like Cymbalta. The one's they usually look for are THC, opiates, benzos, amphetamines and barbiturates', and of course cocaine. Cocaine Is impossible to test for, but cocaine is the one drug that metabolizes into another drug (too tired to look up-- just google) That tells them you used cocaine and/or crack. Again to be specific which one, and yes they can do this, they'd have to send out for a full panel and they can see what vitamins you take, let alone drugs, and exactly the average amount per day - it's scary actually. But most people can't afford these drug tests, and insurance companies aren't willing to pay, so unless the doctor is willing to eat the costs or employer, of a full panel, the typical drug screens as I said above are looking for fall into a 7 panel drug test that can be done today in a few minutes in office. Now if you know you're getting a drug test, the best thing to do is stop taking it until you take the drug test if you don't have a valid Rx. If you do, STOP worrying. It's your personal "private" right to how you're treated medicinally. I've never had an employer not hire me because I take anxiety meds, aka benzos, with a doctor's rx. Good luck.
