Why Pharmacies Won T Fill Suboxone Anymore

I have been told that as of June first of this year Wal-Mart pharmacies will no longer be carrying suboxone anymore.when their stock runs out they will not reorder.why?

No pharmacy is obligated to carry any particular medication. I don't know why Wal-Mart is doing this, but if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's most likely due to the fact that in some areas, the pharmacist has to witness people taking it. Even if this is only necessary for their first dose, it takes time and resources away from other customers that need that pharmacist's assistance.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Does anyone know more about this?
