Hi Jim - I had a few questions. I checked the Edluar NDC page on this site and in both cases, the 10 mg sublingual is reporting a different inscription than nte 10. Is the tablet which you are referring to from outside the United States by chance? And my other question relates to what it is prescribed for - I thought that Edluar (Zolpidem) is indicated for treating insomnia as a sleep aid? To the best of your knowledge have you seen it prescribed off label for gastrointestinal issues? Just trying to get as many details as I can, so I'd appreciate anything else you can share. Thanks!
It's definitely edluar manufactured for the United States. Far too much packaging for this medication. It is not prescribed for gastrointestinal issues, it is, as you said, usually prescribed for people who need a short term sleeping aid and have trouble with swallowing (elderly) or have malabsorption issues such as those caused by gastric bypass surgery. Keep in mind that a 10mg sublingual tablet will generally take effect quicker than swallowing a tablet and could have "enhanced" effects. This is a Z class benzodiazepine in the same family as Valium, lorazepam & therefore has the same addictive qualities. Should not be prescribed for long term usage.
Thank you very much for the clarification - Would you happen to know if the "nte 10" inscription is a new version being released by the manufacturer? I was trying to find a picture or any details from them but the farthest I got was to download their full prescribing information PDF, and it only describes the 10 mg sublingual tablet as "round white, flat-faced, bevel-edged, with debossed X on one side."
