Which Is Stronger Hydrocodone Or Oxycodone 10 325
UpdatedThis is to answer the question is there a higher dose form of norco the answer is yes it's called Zohydro it was made here in San Diego and has been approved by the Fda and Sea but it might be hard to find and the insurance company might not cover it, it's and extended version kinda like oxycontin for oxycodone and it comes in different doses. Fact not fiction.

Just to clarify, Zohydro only contains Hydrocodone, in a time released formulation. It does not contain Acetaminophen, like Norco does.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

verwon you are just right as for the side effects but it comes in dosage as low as 10 mg, but it's safer for your liver. I read about a person prescribe 12 10? 325 per day that is 3900 per day and the max is 4000 and for a year. I was suggesting a safer and something stronger or as is strong as oxycontin abc safe for your liver. All narcotics have some degree of addiction wether it's physical or mental. I just started them about 2 months ago, best med I've taken in 17 yrs but it's not for everyone I know but it's a alternative. Good luck
Zohydro may be safer for your liver but it is an extremely dangerous drug. It is the ONLY hydrocodone on the market that isn't a combo med like Norco, Vicodin, etc. There are people who are trying to get it discontinued and for very good reason! Like I said, it is very dangerous! I believe a person would be better off and safer switching to OxyContin or MS Contin if a long acting med is required. There are others but I don't know much about them. For safety reasons, oxy and ms are better. Granted, there is always abuse potential with any narcotic but with the so zohydro, abusing it one time can cause death. That is how potent it is! Say you are use to taking 4 Norco's at once ( abusing it) so you try 4 zohydro 10mgs because it is hydrocodone.....that is more than enough to cause death! It's very scary. I don't know anyone who has actually taken it but if you do will you please tell me how it worked for them? I mean, zohydro vs Norco. I, personally, am scared to death of it. I am just going by what chemists, etc are saying about the drug. Thank you
Just to add that due to repeated cases of overdose toxicity, FDA has lowered the maximum daily dose of Acetaminophen to no more than 3,000mgs.
It carries the risk of causing both liver damage and liver failure, as well as stomach damage and irritation.

Wtg Tracy. Good info!
I have been taking hydrocodone...the 10/325 yellow pills.I have been on them for 9 years now.I had tongue cancer and af tter surgery and radiation treatments I had severe ear and neck pain.So Dr put me on them.1pill every 4 hours.Max daily dose is 6 a. day.Now I am getting immune to them. They wear off before the 4 hrs is up.Sometimes I take more than I'm supposed to because the pain is unbearable. Then run out before my next script can be filled.then if I don't have any I get so sick. Its terrible that we have to live in terrible pain like this day after day..
Example a 5mg oxycodone is equal to a 7.5 norco as a 15 mg of oxycotin is equal to 2 norco 10/325 is just generic norco and oxycodone can have a margin of 10-20% difference for example a 10/325 can be 8/325 or 12/325 but do you think the bid pharma are going to go over no the only way is to ask your doctor not to give you generic but then you have to deal with the pharmacy to get them to order it because remember there in to make more money Watson makes the closes to what the recommended dosage is when you look at your script it says generic or brand but again its up to the doctor and the pharmacy as for oxycotin is only made by one company so at the moment there is no generic on them as for the color some people say the yellow works better its because of the binders that's in them again the pharmacy hope this helps a little to understand as they say different strokes for different folks but 1 ask your doctor to give you brand name and then ask you pharmacy to see if they will get it for you and see if your insurance company will cover it.
zohydro was a total waste of time for me. Tried it and it did nothing for the pain.
Hello. I'm in San Diego as well...my doctor worked with me, wrote it all on my script, but my $5.00 co pay went to over $100.00..I have great health insurance so I was shocked, but I am so fed up now that I would rather live with the pain, than deal with all the trouble to be out of pain...
Does Oxycodone 10/325 have only Tylenol or does it contain aspirin also? My stomach had ulcers, hiatel hernia & a bleeding stomach. Plus I am nauseated constantly & taking phenergan & zofran constantly. I am allergic to NSAIDS, but my pain management doctor prescribes Oxycodone 10/325 3 times a day. Along with 350 mg. of Somas 3 times a day & 4 mg. of Zanaflex HCL 4 times a day. All are GENERIC NOT NAME BRAND. Do generics make a difference? Also, what about the Oxycodone, Somas & Zanaflex (also generic) I am so confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yes oxycodone 10/325 has tylenol in it, too. 10 mg oxycodone and 325 mg of tylenol just like narcos have 325 or 500 mg of tylenol.
Dear Lin,I'm very sorry to hear you have to live in so much pain, believe me after 3 Failed Spinal Surgeries I know how Severe Chronic Intractable Pain can take over one's life & actually keeps one from doing even the little things they use to be able to enjoy in their daily lives.Lin,it sounds like to me you need a Time Release Medication & normally your Doctor will still prescribe something such as the Norco for BTP to take when your Pain Level is out of control.I've actually been on as much as 400-mg's of Oxycontin per day for several years,3-80-mg's at am.& 2-80-mg's in the pm.plus I would take 4-10/325-Endocets during the day for BTP.I was on this dose for years until I heard about The Deaths happening from the Oxycontin's & I ask my Doctor to take me off of this Time Release Med.He put me on 4-10-mg's of Methadone & also left me on the 4-10/325 Endocet's.Then over a period of time he would take me off the Methadone & put me on the Duragesic Pain Patch, you normally start at a low dose like the 25-mcg & slowly go up to as much as the 100-mcgs Patches. These what well for people like yourself if you're suffering 24/7/365 with Intractable Pain Syndrome.I highly advice you to discuss these options with your Physician who's highly trained in treating this type of pain.I want to wish you the Best of Luck.Bobbi
For RSD/CRPS I have a spinal cord stimulator (SCS) implant, which saved my life. I also have Fibromyalgia & chronic migraines. The SCS was amazing until I lost 35 lbs; now it barely works & I was cut from my job for missing too much time due to medical issues so I have no insurance. I was on Fentanyl, Dilaudid, anti-depressant and anti-anxiety. I had to taper off the Fentanyl & anti-depressant & i suffered horrible withdrawals even following dr's instructions to the letter. I want off the 4mg Dilaudid (x4/day) because its been 4 yrs & it's no longer working. I'm on the Dilaudid, 100 mg Gabapentin & 10 mg Valium & thats it. The breakthrough pain is becoming worse each day. Originally they gave me 300mg Gabapentin which made me wake up with a migraine every morning & I had to go back to bed & couldn't function until about 3PM every day so we had to lower it to 100 mg/night. Its been a month now and my "every day" pain is gone but Im not sleeping, can barely walk and the break-through pain is thru the roof. I desperately need & want to go to work but I need to get help before I lose my mind. I don't know what to ask my Pain Mgmt dr for until I can get my surgery done, I need to find a job with benefits so I have to be able to function until then... I have a bunch of discount med cards but in same instances they are useless.
Clinically oxycodone and hydrocodone are fairly equivalent in potency. If you have been using one or the other for an extended period of time, you may find that switching from one to the other may be more effective in relieving pain, due to the tolerance your body has developed to one or the other's formula. I had switched from long time hydro. Use to Percocet, same ratio 10/325. Again, it seemed a little more effective most likely due to the change in formula, rather than being more potent. The Percocet did make me more drowsy, again because of the different composition. So again, doctor's will tell you that they are pretty comparable in effectiveness, but for long term use, they prefer prescribing hydrocodone, as Percocet has been shown to develop greater dependency, and increased tendencies toward addiction.
I have been on htdrocodone 325/10 for several years - I have a chronic kidney disease and worry about liver damage. I am ALLERGIC to ASPIRIN - last pain center visit i asked if there is a med like hydrocodone w/o the tylenol - they started me on oxycodone 10 - been on it for about a week --- it makes me so skeepy i can hardly keep my eyes open. - will this get better? suggestiong appreciated.
