You need to be in full withdrawal from your drug of choice, before you take Suboxone, otherwise the Naloxone in it may throw you into precipitated withdrawals.

After that, you should follow your doctor's dosing instructions.

This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Hi Ivy! I was on methadone and switched 2 suboxone. I had 2 wait until I was withdrawing b 4 I could take the suboxone. If u don't wait, as Dr. Verwon said," u will have worse withdrawals." So, make sure u r withdrawing, first. Everyone is different , but by around 24 hours or so , u should feel withdrawals, then u can start the suboxone. Let us know how u r doing.
