Whether you 'should' take any vitamins or not is a contentious issue and your doctor is likely to tell you that you don't need to take any and that you get all that you need in food.
Unfortunately, there is VERY good evidence that up to 85% of the population is deficient in Vitamin D and several doctors call magnesium deficiency 'epidemic'.
It's an excellent idea to get a blood test for vitamin d and get your level up to the Normal Vitamin D Level and possibly have your magnesium level checked, although the magnesium blood test is very inaccurate and will tell you little.
