What Pill Looks Just Like Hydrocodone 10/325?
UpdatedI need help! My father was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer a few months back! They prescribed him hydrocodone 10/325mg! He now has begun to have some sort of mental status change because of the effects of the chemo on his body! He thinks he's suppose to be getting three hydrocodones at a time, and even with showing him the bottle and reassuring him he's not , he becomes very angry/agitated saying we are trying to kill him and that my step mom don't care and just wants money etc and that he's divorcing her! He's even called 911 saying she's abusing him etc! He's very confused and won't listen to any form of reasoning! Is their some kind of placebo pill that looks like his hydrocone that I could give him with the two he revives to make him think he's getting his three pills "he's suppose to get"? That's the only thing I can think to do at this point since his mental status is diminishing! Oh and he's diabetic so it can't be something that will effect his sugar levels! Thanks so much for any help!

Generic Tylenol looks like hydrocodone...if he's already getting acetaminophen (Tylenol) with the vicodin...there are some calcium pills that are all white and fairly large. Maybe if you cut all his meds in half ...tell him it's easier for him to swallow this way...you could sneak in the halves of the calcium without him noticing. You could also call his dr and let him or her know what's happening. Maybe he is is not getting enough relief with 2. He might need a stronger med temporarily......hope something helps.
Contact his doctor and tell them the situation. Tricking someone with meds can backfire... The doc should give him stronger meds. Hydrocodone is a med that will keep some people awake. Maybe tell him that the doctor recommends they be dissolved, but ask the doctor or pharmacy first. Or how about liquid form with flavor? The problem with taking hydro is that it is not instant release.
I would discuss with his doctor about his mental status and confirmed what medications he should be taking. I took care of my grandmother who had dementia and also heart problems and she became very combative and accused me of overdosing her on medication. I would discuss with his doctor about his mental status and confirmed what medications he should be taking. Definitely one thing I can say is don't take it personally. They are medicated and have an altered mental state so they don't need to say things that hurt you. Confirm with the doctor the dose of medications and if need be you can crush up the medication. Are used to crush up my Nanas medication and put it in applesauce. You could also maybe give him a vitamin that looks similar to the pain medication. Also check with the pharmacy and see what they might suggest. Good luck to you. I know how difficult it can be. TakeCare
I agree that generic tylenlol looks very similar as long as you make sure in total he doesnt get more than 4000 mg per day or it is livery toxic. It is true about calcium pills as well. I know the kroger brand generic tylenlol at least used to look like that as long as you mean the oblong white hydrocodone.
