What Not To Say During Suboxone Appt (Page 10)

My boyfriend has battled with heroin addiction for at least 2 years now. He was prescribed to before, but couldn't afford the maintenance program and ended up banging heroin again. He went back to his doctor to get a script for suboxone again last week, and the doctor wouldn't prescribe it to him. I found another dr who can prescribe suboxone nearby, and want to make sure he gets a script because he will die if he doesn't quit using. Does anyone know any reasons why a dr wouldn't prescribe suboxone?

Just be honest with the dr. Sub drs. usually will help people being honest. Plz also go to aa na and get a sponsor and plz stay away from EVERYONE that uses. If you live with addicts GET out or u will relapse.I will pray for u

My boyfriend and I have a 9 month old daughter. He wants his life back. He's not just on h. Its a bunch of stuff. But he can't go to rehab I work and he watches the baby. The doctor rd him rehab or nothing. We live in Vermont and trying to find another doctor

The dr is right. For your boyfriend to recover, he MUST put his recovery FIRST in his life. Being sober is the most imporatant thing for an addict. Plus a suboxone is not just a pill to take and everyone gets sober. The medication is just part of it. Your boyfriend must go to a 12 step meeting everyday for 90 days. get a sponsor and get counseling. Please advise your boyfriend to go to rehab. if he doesnt want to go then he doesnt want to quit. also he should be the one to help himself not you. Plus your boyfriend should not be alone watching the baby during addiction not that he will hurt the baby but it is just not safe. I have almost 3yrs clean off heroin. I am willing to help you with advice if i am able keep posting and i will be in touch. I really hope he goes to treatment. if he does go everything will work out for you with a sitter its more important he gets help. If he continues to use he is not only jeopordizing future with your baby but your relationship with you. If he doesnt get help weather you want to or not you may have to move on with your life with out him. Whats more important to you, the baby or your boyfriend. I know it is not fair,however,please do whats best for the child! plz keep in touch.

So.. I was addicted to opiates for about 8 yrs got pregnant gave birth and was put on suboxone. This month will be 2 years on suboxone with no relapse no mess ups. So far this drug has saved my life. Well I had some issues with my insurance card and mediaid only updates their system once a month on the 1st of every month. My ins card was not corrected before the first so my suboxone Dr at a pain clinic is denying to see me until the 1st of next month. That means I am without my media for an entire month. I can not go without this medicine and I don't know what to do. Should I call and just find another Dr to see asap or what? I don't know what options I have as I've never had an issue until now. Remind u this was my insurance fault and now I'm left to pay the price. Someone please help. Any advice on what I need to do or how I can get my meds. I can't go without and I'm terrified of relapsing.... !!!! :(

You need to call medicaid and explain! The main thing you need to do is not let your mind trick you into taking opiates again. PLEASE dont pick up. I think your dr. is a prick for not seeing you my self. You MUST not take no for answer and explain to medicaid how crucial this is. Last resort go to emergency room and have them supply you something temporairly so you are not sick. Let me know what happens.

If you have to fly 1000 miles each month just to find a doctor that prescribes "necessary" medication, I would personally think that you may want to consider re-assessing your situation with a touch of honesty, optimism, and common sense. If you can't find a single doctor in 1000 miles to give you what is medically necessary, it probably is not medically necessary. Flying 1000 miles to a doctor who only takes cash though...lol. Please.... use some logic if you are capable. Best wishes. Please don't vote in the upcoming election though.

I have decided to quit my 10 a day habit of lortabs. My parents never smoked, drank, argued, exposed us to anything negative. I was molested the first three years of my life. The partner i am with for 6 years is the one i started taking it with. Strangely, it was me, that pushed to keep going, then we never stopped. We are done. Over it. Ready to be better people and parents. No one would guess we have a problem. My boyfriend has a great job, I'm a stay at home mom to the smartest little girl. I know i can do this. I want help. But, i also don't want to go to a doctor to ask for suboxone and have to go through a CPS case! I know this is extremely personal, but did you stay clean? Was suboxone hard to get? Any advice is greatly appreciated. I Pray that you are well, safe, and happy!

If he left the suboxone treatment and used then he was non complaint with the treatment. That puts the Dr at risk with DEA of he treats him and he continues to use or just slips. Accidental over dose is easy with suboxone because it's extended release.

Not a good idea taking xanax and suboxine it can kill you I been using for 7 years now wait about 12 hours to take a sub the first day I take a whole 8 mg strip then the secound a half and so on. Take my word on it don't get hooked to the subs use them for a week an stop the withdrawal is nothing like dope withdrawal from subs are way worse.

U need aspecial X# from DEA & the perscribing doctor needs 2 take a special 8hr class & can only treat 30patients @ a time. This is state law!!

That is crazy, that is what them sub.clinics r for and they do give a chance if you fail a drug screen at least in ohio they do I know people that failed 2 to 3 times. But will not go for xanax, they will prescribe pins.for you. The clinic is there too keep you alive, unless you failed a pill count.then no chances.
