i am kumar aged 46,since last 4 years my diabetic is post pone by regular exercise and diet. During last checking(15 days back) it was found fasting 136 Hba 1C-7.3, doctor suggested to take glycomet 500 one tablet in the night.he suggested medicine to be start after 15 days after re observation. present my sugar level is 121 fasting and 198 PP( checked on my glucometer). please advice me weather i have to start glycomet 500.when i have to take and is it sufficient for me ? how it works?

You should follow your doctor's instructions, since your sugars are still slightly elevated.
The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and flatulence.
It is usually best taken just before a meal, so it has time to start working by the time you are digesting your food and will experience high sugar elevations.
It works by helping your liver release less glucose and decreasing the amount that is absorbed from your food, and increasing your sensitivity to insulin.
