(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have read all the posts and found that the best way i found is on the 29th of aug i talked to the pharmacy manager and explained the dilemma i was facing and she told me just to transfer all my other scripts to her location and then drop off my oxy script and methadone and that they would order them for me if they were out.Bam ten days later i got a call yesterday that they had my script filled and to come pick them up.Hope this helps those having problems getting their meds filled.Good luck and god bless.

I live in south florida and used to travel an hour south to my dr who i had ever since i started pain management buttt even though he was a good dr i had to change to one closer because i could only fill at one place and he took full advantage. I spent my whole savings paying close to 2 grand a month for my 7 scripts (2 controlled)... i changed to a local dr and still had a hard time finding a place but after a week i finally did. Im scared to change drs even though my meds were greatly decreased and arent sufficent. I would find yourself a local dr. Its hard and i feel its going go stay this way. Its not right that legit pain management patients are being punished and i wish something would change but it wont. Good luck

I would try a CVS they are always helpful. I get my scripts there every month but when they're out I go to Rite Aid. Never had problems.

After 10 years of oxy's including the new regulations in the past 4 years in south Florida, I have found that by getting to know the head pharmacist in a CVS and a Walgreens across from the CVS, and by contacting each of them 7 days prior to my refill date (28 days), I have had no people say. I did find that splitting my non-controlled prescriptions between the two was helpful. Also a heavy dose of honesty goes a long way

Sherry-
If you are reading this and the pharmacy you spoke of is still alive and kicking. Please let me know how to contact you.
I was a 8 year customer @ CVS I've been at the same pain doctor 10 yrs and then the pharmacy manager refused to fill my 6 scripts. Only 2 are narco! My wife and just spent 6 hours just trying to get them filled at another CVS. Yesterday between my pain appt and trying to find a pharmacy (again I've never filled early out of fear and same CVS 8 yrs)I spent 8 hours.
I'm on methadone and for some magical reason it can only be found at the place who refused me.
I even called corporate trying to find out what happened. And all I get is it's all up to pharmacy manager and a big wig named Cathleen in corp.

Since when did pharmacist get to play GOD with my life? I never wanted any of this. I have a dying wife and son with multiple health problems. Money is tight and last month I had repeated seizurs from methadone while the CVS I always went to decided to fill one last time.
Now where do I go?

Now I agree with using the one pharmacy for your meds. However if you use Walgreens and one location don't have something and then you go to another location, I don't see where that would be a problem since they can see when and where you had your meds filled. The problem I have with waiting until the day you need your meds(lately) is you find yourself running all over town finding one that has it in stock. Now I have filled my on the 29th day and the next month on the 31st day to compensate, but somehow that don't matter when you are a day late, just when you are one day early. If it's a written script that doesn't specify it can't be filled then I don't see where a pharmacist at your local Walgreens can scrutinize. They obviously are tied in with the DEA more lately and it's nothing but a hassle to wait unitl the day you are going to be out and not able to find one with the quantity you need. That's what I get more now for an excuse is "We don't have the amount you are prescribed" It's ridiculous and the prescription money train is all backed up by the government anyway, so WTF!

Please can anyone help, after 3 and 1/2 years my pharmacy is not getting my meds any longer.. well they say they don't know "when" they will be getting them. I have been to over 17 places in Jacksonville No luck.. I get 120 oxycodone 30's a month. Does anyone know of a place here that is not making it almost impossible? Please let me know...

totally agree with you alot of people don't understand what chronic pain is really like, there are days when you would rather be dead then to deal with the horrible pain that only you can feel and sometimes not be able to describe. What it feels like when the only thing you look forward to is going to get your scripts from your pain doctor.

look up a program called PAP patient assistance program and then type in the name of the medication in google....its based on your income and will help you pay for your meds or all of your meds....just pretend on the form your low income...they will send you a card in the mail and you just bring that to the pharmacy every time when you go to fill....it worked for me.....

I agree with you Melody. It sucks when people have no idea what we go through on a daily basis, sit around and judge us. No one wants to have to rely on pain meds, esp when you are judged every day by everyone in a negative way. When you wake up in pain and go to bed everynight in pain, feel free to come back and put your 2 cents in.

Apparently you don't live in Chronic pain, because if you did you would clearly understand that most people that have it can't even walk without the meds that sometimes don't even kill most of the pain. Vitamins, don't kill pain dear and most chronic pain sufferers have tried other alternatives. How dare you even for one second judge those that have to endure endless excruciating pain on an hourly basis because they want the one thing that keeps them functioning as a human being. I would say more, however I'm being extremely courteous.

walgreens has shot themselves in their own feet with a bullet because of this type of policy of not filling soma and oxycodone together. Just think of all the billions not millions but billions of dollars now across the United States with all their Walgreen pharmacies combined they're going to lose out on while other mom and pop pharmacies now and other pharmacies like CVS and Rite Aid are really going to cash in on this and they are glad that walgreens has adopted that policy so that they can pick up the slack and pick up all those billions of dollars that walgreens now will lose. Thank you walgreens for putting together your own noose to hang yourself with because of this retarded policy that you have come up with for playing God over people's lives that suffer immense pain. All of the pharmacy conglomerates would like to thank you for sending billions of dollars their way that you no longer will get to take in and enjoy. This is your punitive punishment for playing God over people's lives for causing them to suffer the discomfort of having to go look for another pharmacy after they have been faithful to you for all these years with their dollars and cents.

I have had on-going problems with getting my oxycodone prescriptions filled by Wallgreens. Believe me, I tried to call someone who could help me overcome these problems but the problem I ran into is that there is NO number available for people to call. There is no way to even contact anyone in the top chain of command by e-mail. I was left adjusting my dosage to accomodate the whims of the Walgreens employees. Something which I am sure any doctor would condemn.

Walgreens is one of the worst places To get opiates filled, if you are a little Early they will run and tell on you They will call your Docter and whoever Else they can tell to stop you from Getting pain relief or they will wright On your script so you can't fill it any Place else early even your so sick. Boycott Walgreens.
