Walgreens Oxycodone Filling Tricks (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have read all the posts and found that the best way i found is on the 29th of aug i talked to the pharmacy manager and explained the dilemma i was facing and she told me just to transfer all my other scripts to her location and then drop off my oxy script and methadone and that they would order them for me if they were out.Bam ten days later i got a call yesterday that they had my script filled and to come pick them up.Hope this helps those having problems getting their meds filled.Good luck and god bless.

I just found out whats going on with Walgreens. These Medication, Methadone, Oxycodone,Dillaudid.pretty much all breakthrough meds, but these 4 have so much paper work involved with each prescription. They have about 4 pages of papers they have to fill out just to fill one of these drugs. They dont really want to deal with it and would rather everyone be on long lasting more expensive pain meds. They caused the problem, they got on the " Make all the money you can" from the whole Fla. pill mills. After paying a 80 million fine, they have to watch their backs even though its not fair to the patient,

I'm in NPR as well and having terrible issues. Trouble is, my doc is in Clearwater. Some of them do not like having a doc outside the county. I've been turned down by 7 different pharmacies after 10yrs with the same doctor and absolutely NO early fills! I lived in Pinellas for 20 yrs, and when I moved up here I kept all the same doctors! Your email address isn't showing up...any other way you can tell? Maybe a street/intersection?

I had my meds in a safe deposit box, went either that day or yhe evening before. I was pulled over for left turn signal wasn't working. Asked to search, had no reason not to...because I hsd my daily supply in my bottle, they arrested me. Obviously, charges were dropped, but I met with a pre trial intervention officer. In the further just carry ur daily allotment with you. I was in shock and pleaded sith him not to offer this same advice, as this is exactly how and why it happened to begin with. I know he was just trying to help, but oopsey.

It's scary, first we have to get the script from the dr, getting a date for an ok day to fill, then the insurance company has their say n when they will cover, so your dr. and insurance say yes , ok fill , but the pharmacist has (store poliy) to keep my meds until day 29 even though the script is dated to fill on 26 days, insurance pays for mine on the 27th day, but most pharmacists will not release til the 29th day, its crazy a few months back any pharmacy would fill it at 29 d7, 28 days. Pharmacists have much power now too!! crazy

Prescriptions are written orders from a doctor to a pharmacist to give a patient these NEEDED medications. It isnt up to the pharmacist to decide that the patients DR is wrong. It isnt an over the counter where the patient just walks up and gets what they want, reguardless of what is needed for them, and the meds we are talking about help, OR hurt, ONLY the patient they are prescribed for. The conscience laws were ment to protect people from having to break their own moral laws by materially participating in something they reguard as a major sin. Made necessary mostly by the invention of Methotrexate or RU46 which are abortifacient drugs that have NO medical purpose but to kill an unborn child. These laws were not written to turn pharmacists into DOCTORS to dictate what patient can have what NEEDED, TRUE medication for whatever ails them. Living in pain, or killing an innocent are VERY different issues, and i do not believe the conscience laws were meant at ALL for the purposes you describe.

Methadone may not be recommended by federal agencies for pain relief, but it WORKS. It is inexpensive, has no real side effects as far as making you feel off, weird, high or whatever, which makes it ideal for people with REAL pain problems who just want to feel better and live a more normal life. I was never PUSHED on methadone, in fact when i moved and switched docs i had a hell of a time getting it. And first excuse he had, when i DID need a bump up (as with ANY med you get used to the dose and need it raised, in this case it had been two YEARS since i had asked for a raise in the dose, and that putting up with high levels of pain the whole time since the dose i was on before the move was 60 mg a day and the amount this fool gave me was 20, tops. So when i asked for a raise, he SWITCHED ME to MORPHINE, which i hated, which DID have the nasty weird feeling side effects and lethargy which is bad since i have M. E. and that makes me lethargic enough all by itself, and NOW several years later im on Fentanyl... wanna talk about how many people died on this stuff? I would be better off on my methadone, with the right dose. Not to mention these things have a KNOWN problem with not lasting like they should and my doctor wants me to believe that my diabetes or my M. E. are causing my intensified pain and withdrawl symptoms every bloody third night and first day... like clockwork.yeah right.

When you are a cash paying patient due to NO INSURANCE it is very hard to allow 1 pharmacy to fill your prescriptions. I have to SHOP around because they are so out of wack with their prices I CAN'T just go to 1 pharmacy. And I live less than 1 block from Walgreens. Its crazy and they have known me for years. This particular Walgreens has only been open for about 10 years now...maybe less. And as soon as they opened their doors I became one of their FIRST customers.

You are a lucky one...i was with Wagreens for 8 years until they were red flaged from DEA for selling pain meds on black market and so they couldnt fill any pain meds for 4 months...so i had to go pharmacy to pharmacy until a Barclays took my scrips and filled for $1700.00!!! a month when walgreens was $290.00!! Im getting so screwed! And i keep trying Walgreens and Publix, but thanks to the DEA each pharmacy only gets so many and none of them have enough for everyone. Its so sad.

Yes the pharmacist's have way too much power, and they treat us like criminals, I live in southern california. I refuse to buy from walgreens, and have switched to Rite-Aid.

I am a disabled person. I had back surgery several years ago which was failed. I have a compressed nerve and very messed up disc in my back. I take oxycodone 30 mg. All of a sudden I have had problem trying to get it filled. I have tried lakeland, plant city at walgreens an publix supermarkets. I have been filling between these two pharms for years now. I have a legit scripts an a very good Dr out of Tampa. After going through 15 Drs he's the first one that has helped me control my pain. Now I can't get filled. Publix pharmacy tech at Plant city told me last month that they didn't get my oxy or time release in at all an it would be next month. When I got to the parking lot I ran into a friend that takes same thing after car accident. She just an hour prior got both hers filled yet I was told they didn't get them in. I have ran around to many many now trying to fill. I guess because I'm not regular customer they are not filling although my normal two places are not filling after doing it for years. I lay in bed for days on end an even weeks when my back and nerve pain gets out of control. I didn't ask for this pain and I hate it but it's from a accident many years ago. Anyone have an pharmacies they could recommend? I would love to find one pharmacy an just go there as a regular customer every month. Tx for any help.
