Walgreens Oxycodone Filling Tricks (Page 2)
UpdatedI have read all the posts and found that the best way i found is on the 29th of aug i talked to the pharmacy manager and explained the dilemma i was facing and she told me just to transfer all my other scripts to her location and then drop off my oxy script and methadone and that they would order them for me if they were out.Bam ten days later i got a call yesterday that they had my script filled and to come pick them up.Hope this helps those having problems getting their meds filled.Good luck and god bless.
Sherry. I am having the same problems, i would love to know who you use and i will transfer all 9 of my scripts to them and wont use another place ever. Your email address is blocked out. Help
Sherry,
Thank you for your post. I have not received any info on how to get in touch with you. let me know what I need to do. Thanks, Gene
Can I ask how many you are perscribed a day? and what state you are in/ i have been going to Walgreens for years and they decide now what and how much i can take!! My dr. prescribed my meds, walgreens has filled it forever, about 7 months ago they made me change my dose, and i take methadone as well. Now last week they decided i should take less, called my Dr. he wouldnt lower the dose and they said i cant take methadone with it cause they are both breakthrough. Its just a nightmare, now i have to see what they will fill for me!! So what my Dr says isnt good enough. They are now my Dr.!!! and i stay with them cause they always have my meds and its cheaper.
The FDA does NOT recommend Methadone for pain relief. Many deaths were reported ref Methadone because it only has a half life for pain relief but the drug remains full force in your system. Therefore, peoples pain comes back and they take more Methadone and bang they stop breathing. You can read about it on FDA website. They put out the notice in 2006 so I wrote them to see if that was still their policy and they gave me a link to the 2006 alert. Methadone is used to help H addicts get off their drug. NOT for pain control although doctors are still trying to push it on us.
Pharmacists do have the right to refuse to fill a prescription for a number of reasons that concern the health of the patient and the pharmacist's beliefs, at least where I practice. Can't say it happens often though. However, the oath of a pharmacist has nothing to do with filling prescriptions for whomever and whatever medication they want.
I just found out whats going on with Walgreens. These Medication, Methadone, Oxycodone,Dillaudid.pretty much all breakthrough meds, but these 4 have so much paper work involved with each prescription. They have about 4 pages of papers they have to fill out just to fill one of these drugs. They dont really want to deal with it and would rather everyone be on long lasting more expensive pain meds. They caused the problem, they got on the " Make all the money you can" from the whole Fla. pill mills. After paying a 80 million fine, they have to watch their backs even though its not fair to the patient,
I'm in NPR as well and having terrible issues. Trouble is, my doc is in Clearwater. Some of them do not like having a doc outside the county. I've been turned down by 7 different pharmacies after 10yrs with the same doctor and absolutely NO early fills! I lived in Pinellas for 20 yrs, and when I moved up here I kept all the same doctors! Your email address isn't showing up...any other way you can tell? Maybe a street/intersection?
I had my meds in a safe deposit box, went either that day or yhe evening before. I was pulled over for left turn signal wasn't working. Asked to search, had no reason not to...because I hsd my daily supply in my bottle, they arrested me. Obviously, charges were dropped, but I met with a pre trial intervention officer. In the further just carry ur daily allotment with you. I was in shock and pleaded sith him not to offer this same advice, as this is exactly how and why it happened to begin with. I know he was just trying to help, but oopsey.
Were is this is it in Tucson az and what pharmacy please help om so tired of looking.
It's scary, first we have to get the script from the dr, getting a date for an ok day to fill, then the insurance company has their say n when they will cover, so your dr. and insurance say yes , ok fill , but the pharmacist has (store poliy) to keep my meds until day 29 even though the script is dated to fill on 26 days, insurance pays for mine on the 27th day, but most pharmacists will not release til the 29th day, its crazy a few months back any pharmacy would fill it at 29 d7, 28 days. Pharmacists have much power now too!! crazy
yes, go to CVS they always have them
Thats so funny, on the corner of nightmare and horror street!!!!!
I have ben to tons of cvs and they have never filled mine.
Prescriptions are written orders from a doctor to a pharmacist to give a patient these NEEDED medications. It isnt up to the pharmacist to decide that the patients DR is wrong. It isnt an over the counter where the patient just walks up and gets what they want, reguardless of what is needed for them, and the meds we are talking about help, OR hurt, ONLY the patient they are prescribed for. The conscience laws were ment to protect people from having to break their own moral laws by materially participating in something they reguard as a major sin. Made necessary mostly by the invention of Methotrexate or RU46 which are abortifacient drugs that have NO medical purpose but to kill an unborn child. These laws were not written to turn pharmacists into DOCTORS to dictate what patient can have what NEEDED, TRUE medication for whatever ails them. Living in pain, or killing an innocent are VERY different issues, and i do not believe the conscience laws were meant at ALL for the purposes you describe.
Methadone may not be recommended by federal agencies for pain relief, but it WORKS. It is inexpensive, has no real side effects as far as making you feel off, weird, high or whatever, which makes it ideal for people with REAL pain problems who just want to feel better and live a more normal life. I was never PUSHED on methadone, in fact when i moved and switched docs i had a hell of a time getting it. And first excuse he had, when i DID need a bump up (as with ANY med you get used to the dose and need it raised, in this case it had been two YEARS since i had asked for a raise in the dose, and that putting up with high levels of pain the whole time since the dose i was on before the move was 60 mg a day and the amount this fool gave me was 20, tops. So when i asked for a raise, he SWITCHED ME to MORPHINE, which i hated, which DID have the nasty weird feeling side effects and lethargy which is bad since i have M. E. and that makes me lethargic enough all by itself, and NOW several years later im on Fentanyl... wanna talk about how many people died on this stuff? I would be better off on my methadone, with the right dose. Not to mention these things have a KNOWN problem with not lasting like they should and my doctor wants me to believe that my diabetes or my M. E. are causing my intensified pain and withdrawl symptoms every bloody third night and first day... like clockwork.yeah right.
I agree 100% with you safira (sp)?? Sorry if i messed that up... but yes and these pharmicist play god with peoples meds and its not right. I have been with the same dr 8 years and take the same meds for 8 years. I dont get a crazy amount either and when i walk into a pharmacy im treated like trash... its frustrating.
Rock n roll, locked n loaded, they disrespect people so badly I've got murderous thoughts runnin thru my head
When you are a cash paying patient due to NO INSURANCE it is very hard to allow 1 pharmacy to fill your prescriptions. I have to SHOP around because they are so out of wack with their prices I CAN'T just go to 1 pharmacy. And I live less than 1 block from Walgreens. Its crazy and they have known me for years. This particular Walgreens has only been open for about 10 years now...maybe less. And as soon as they opened their doors I became one of their FIRST customers.
GOODLUCK with that ! No wonder patients turn to freaking street DRUGS. Damn legalize cannabis everywhere and Dr.s, pharmacies, pharmacists and drug companies get your act together !! I'm pisst.. got to go. Peace to the patients.
Hello my name is evette and i'm have the same problem with that to at walgreen and they will not fill mine either and i have been with them over 15 years. so i'm in miami gardens can you email me the imformation {edited for privacy}
