Hi shri,
Based on my research, the usual adult dose for Volibo (voglibose) is 200 to 300 mcg 3 times a day on an empty stomach, 15-30 minutes before meals. Always be sure to follow the prescribing information that was given to you by your doctor or pharmacist.
Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor used for lowering post-prandial blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus.
Voglibose delays the absorption of glucose and thereby reduces the risk of macrovascular complications. Postprandial hyperglycemia (PPHG) is primarily due to first phase insulin secretion. Alpha glucosidase inhibitors (such as Voglibose) delay glucose absorption at the intestine level and thereby prevent sudden surge of glucose after a meal.
Some side effects to be aware of are:
Flatulence; abdominal distension; diarrhoea; pain; skin reactions; hypoglycemia; increased LFT.
Potentially Fatal: Hepatotoxicity
I hope this info helps to answer your question!
