Valium And Suboxone Anxiety Pain (Top voted first)
UpdatedHow can I convince my Dr. I need Valium or anti anxiety along with my suboxone been on for 4 years. He is reluctant to prescribe klonipin for any length of time. I'm going to ask for Valium this time. I really do need something. I got divorced after 28 years and have lost 4 siblings in 4 years Without anxiety meds I won't hardly leave my house. I get so overwhelmed with anxiety I do anything

Are you on Sub's for Addiction? That would explain it.
Try Gabapentin it works well and not controlled.
Best way is to tell him the how you feel. Out of breath etc. And then use what he offers you. Then if it doesn't work. Go back in 3 weeks later and tell him or her if it works.
Also I have gone from Kpins to Valium. The way I did it. Was to use the reduction of benzo's done by the addiction hospital in the UK. You switch from K to V. eq= .5mg =5mg. So say you take 1.5mg kpins .5tid. Then you would take 30mg Valium
Then you just reduce 2.5mg per month. I have not found a Dr not willing to help someone reduce their usage. That is why they go to Medical school to help people. They really get put off by saying things like some guy on the internet said to reduce my Kpins by using Valium. But if you google another Doctor who wrote the report. They will look at it. But not some guy. Like me.
Best of luck.
Hi Marcie,
A simple and honest advise... Do not mix Valium with Suboxone in any dosage for any reason. This is extremely dangerous and can be deadly. I lost my brother in law due to this mix. He was taking 10mg of Valium 3 times a day for 2-3 weeks and he died in his sleep due to lung failure after taking Suboxone. It was his first time taking Suboxone and it just killed him.
Gabapentin (Neurontin) and it's bigger sister Lyrica made my vision so foggy I couldn't drive. Shoot I could barely walk! Glad it works for you but be careful!
Your suboxone doc is reluctant because suboxone and valium (which is a benzodiazepine) are both respiratory depressants. You could quit breathing. I've been on them both together and have never had a problem, but Doctors have to cover their own arse and that is the clinical finding as of now. Good luck
If you're in the UK you have no chance, as the person above mentioned both drugs are central nervous depressants, and a UK doctor will not take the risk of you stopping breathing. All you could do is fill a prescription online which is risky. Also when I was on suboxone it was like everything was twice as fast bright and loud so for a year I was an anxious mess. I would reduce slowly off the subs and I bet you will feel normal. Good luck
I get my diazepam along withethadone not a problem, maybe because your only on suboxone the doc dosent want to give u a diazepam habit?
Re: Dale (# 5)
I have been on Suboxone/Subutex for over 10 years for addiction to opiates and I have taken 10 mgs of Valium one in the morning and one before bed and I have found no problems at all unless I have no benzos then I shake violently and can't sleep. I have tried to tough it out but withdrawal can go on for weeks and I just can't handle it. So I make sure that I never run out even when I can't afford it. I am thinking of asking my doctor or psychiatrist to put me on a reduction programme but I am afraid of their reaction. Thanks for looking.
