Urgent Help Needed - Wellbutin Xl

Everyone,

I was subscribed wellbutrin XL (150mg) about a year ago. I take it once a day along with 40mg of lexapro for severe depression and anxiety.

A couple days ago (like an idiot) I decided to try and smoke the wellbutrin. PLEASE DO NOT LECTURE ME ON DRUG ABUSE - this thread is for help only please (and I plan on NEVER doing this again). I ended up smoking on the order of 11-12 pills.

I have been unable to eat for the last 3 days. If I eat I always throw up. I also have painful chest congestion/phlegm.

Mostly i'm worried i've damaged my lungs and/or throat with the vapors. Is this possible? Also, is it possible to be poisoned by this amount - if so can I safely wait it out at home?

I'd suggest consulting a doctor, just to be on the safe side, because yes, there are several ways you could have harmed yourself by doing that.

One is the toxicity of the amount you smoked, which could have caused organ damage.

The other is the fact that since these are time released tablets, they contain fillers and not all of them are meant to be broken down by the human body, they are normally just expelled in your waste. However, you've put them directly into your lungs and sinuses.

There are cases where people have done this repeatedly and actually created enough blockages in their lungs that they've gone into respiratory arrest and died from it.

I'll skip any other lectures, since it seems you're smart enough to learn your lesson and don't want to repeat this awful experience, however, medical intervention is your safest route, at this time.
