I am diabetic and have gastroperisis. My stomach hurts, I vomit frequently, have bouts of diarrhea. I was told to research this medication. I am currently taking regalan. I can not eat much at all. I have lost 20 pounds in 5 months. Does this medication always cause stomach pain? I also have othercomplications from the diabetes. These include neropathy, kidney disease, cateracts, severe depression. Is this medication going to react with these other condition? Where can I get this medication?

Hello, Michelle! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having.
However, Domperidone isn't available in the U.S. It's uses aren't even agreed upon by the countries that it is legal in, some believe it effective for GERD, while others use it for motility disorders. Thus, I can't even really provide any definitive answers to your questions.
Has your doctor ever had you try Mirtazapine?
The FDA classifies it as an antidepressant, but doctors have found it to help some people that have been resistant to other treatments for gastroparesis. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes.
Does anyone else have any suggestions?
