Trepeline Indications
UpdatedDoctor prescribed trepeline for treatment of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) about 5 years ago as its supposed to slow down my stomach digestion process. Im not too convinced, are there any natural medicines I can take instead of trepeline? Reduced dosage down to 10mg and only take 1 in a 3 day cycle, I have trouble sleeping if I stay off it for longer than 3 days... Stomach starts running too.

Hello, Deepguy! How are you?
Yes, if you stop it without doing a very slow taper, you will experience some withdrawal effects, such as what you've described.
The difference between it and the natural stuff is that this medication is actually proven to work. The natural substances aren't, so of course your doctor is going to want you to take something that has been proven to have the desired effect.
The main question is, has it been helping you?
