Thyroid Medicine

I am 44 yrs old. I had been gone under surgery for thyroid in 1997. Till 2011 I haven't checked for tsh levels. When I checked in 2011 it was 64 ui/ml tsh and t4 t3 were normal. Doctor prescribed me for levothyroxine 25mg and gradually up to 100 mg. When I was taking 100mg my tsh level was 10 ui/ml which was near to normal. But I was experiencing many things like headaches, dizziness and heart beating. Then doctor advised me to take 50mg per day but now the tsh is 32 ui/ml. I do not understand what should I do. I have always a feeling of being depressed, loss of concentration, anxiety etc.

Those are common side effects of this medication, but it is far more risky to your health your health to leave your thyroid issue remain uncontrolled, especially since it can cause weight problems, which can lead to other health issues.

What I would suggest doing is going to see your doctor to discuss the benefits and risks with them, that way you can make an informed decision on what would be best for you.
