The Time Of Day To Take Losartan

I just started taking Losartan 50 mg. 3 days ago. I take arthritic meds. for gout so I asked the pharmacy if it would be ok to take this at 7 every evening. Now I am hearing that it should be taken of a morning. I take thyroid medicine first thing in the morning and then mid morning take the arthritis meds. Will it be effective taking the Losartan in the evenings ?

When did you doctor instruct you to take it?

Blood pressure medications are usually meant to be taken in the morning, so they can help control your blood pressure during the times of day when you will be most active and experience the most fluctuations. Taking it at night could cause it to go too low, since it naturally lowers at night, when you're at rest.

The typical side effects of this medication are listed by the FDA as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, stomach pain and hypotension.

Thank you very much..She had told me to start it that day and I didn't pick it up till 6 in the evening so that is why I took it then..But I am going to skip tonites dose and start taking it in the morning..Thank you so much for your input..it was very helpful/

I have always been told to take my blood pressure pill at night because your BP is highest in the AM. Also there are more strokes in te morning.
