Tellzy Ch 40 | 6.25
UpdatedHi, I had been diagnosed with Thyroid (Hypo) and my TSH was 100+ in the month of May'2013. At that time, my BP was slightly high (137/91) and weight 66 Kgs. I was prescribed to take Thyroxcin 100mcg.
Later in the late July'2013, my TSH was 0.04 and BP was (147/73) and weight 62.9 Kgs. I was advised to continue Thyroxcin 100mcg for another 2 months but at home, my parents insisted me not to take such a high dose when TSH has fallen down to 0.04 and told me to take Thyroxin 50mcg which i am continuing since then..
On 4th Dec 2013, My TSH was 4.68, BP was (140/110) and weight 64Kgs. I changed my doctor and i was advised to take Thyronorm 50 mcg & Thyrowell and was advised to visit next month with FT3, FT4, TSH, TPO AB tests.
On 24/01/2014, i visited the doctor with the above tests report which is as below:
FT3 (ECLIA) - 4.62 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8)
FT4 (ECLIA) - 13.19 ng/dl (10 - 22)
TSH (ECLIA) - 2.83 mIU/ml (0.4 - 4.2)
TPO Antibody - 33.78 IU/mL (0 - 34)
BP - 140/114
Weight - 64 Kgs
Now i have been told by my doctor that i need medication for controlling my BP. He has now prescribed me the below medicines and called me for review after 3 months:
Thyronorm 50mcg (once everyday empty stomatch)
Thyrowell (Once everyday afternoon)
Tellzy CH40 | 6.25 (once everyday after breakfast)
I got to know that once if we start medication for BP then, it should be continued for life long. I don't know if i should start with it or shall i try for an alternate medication like YOGA, HOMEOPATHY OR AYURVEDIC MEDICINES before starting Tellzy CH 40 tablets.
Also, i would like to know its side effects and if it will include sugar as side effect. Both my parents are diabetic. My mother has Thyroid & Sugar since she was 32Yrs and my dad has Sugar & BP since he was 42Yrs. I am 34Yrs now.
I don't know the reason why my BP is up and not coming down. I last tested sugar on 3/12/2013 and the results are below:
P.Glucose Fasting - 79 mg/dl
Urine Sugar Fasting - Nil
P.Glucose Post Prandial - 92.7 mg/dl
urine Sugar Post Prandial - Nil
Any inputs from everyone will greatly be appreciated.
Thanks & regards,

Hello, Kamittal! How are you?
I think that what you heard about taking blood pressure medications is actually due to a misunderstanding. If you start taking them, it doesn't mean you can't ever stop taking them, if you're keeping it down naturally via diet, exercise and supplements. There are many people that take them for awhile, until they get high blood pressure under control, then stop.
It's just that there is no cure for high blood pressure, it is something you will always have to pay attention to and keep under control. If a good healthy diet and lots of exercise are keeping it in normal ranges, you will need to continue eating health and exercising, or it will start to go back up.
The common side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dehydration.
And yes, in some rare cases, the Chlorthalidone has been known to increase the incidence of new onset diabetes. Thus, if that is a worry, you may want to ask your doctor for a different medication to try.
Is there anything else I can help with?
