Sun Pharma Soma (Top voted first)
UpdatedPosted 4-29-15. Soma manufactured by Sun Pharma are currently available in Houston, TX. I recently read that the FDA put a strong warning on Sun Pharma products and is trying to halt their import from India. Has anyone taken Soma by Sun Pharma lately? I read that Sun Pharma uses approximately 6-8 binding agents in that particular pill. If you have taken Soma manufactured by Sun Pharma please share your results here. Thanks!

@Eddy,
As far as the binders and fillers are concerned, I for one believe that they can (but not always) have an affect on how well the medication works. I think a good example that many pain patients are aware of is Actavis' newer white Norco tablets. When these were originally the yellow oblong pills made by Watson, they were also reported to be a lot more potent - Yet the pill description(s) only depict differences within the list of inactive ingredients and do not note any changes in the actual dosage. So I question why so many people felt such a significant difference in its overall effects when all they "supposedly" changed were binders/fillers.... And not to get off topic, but in that regard I do think they play a role in the pill's bioavailability or how well they get metabolized. By the way, I think you have a lot of great posts on this site and appreciate your feedback!
Anytime Eddy! Your advice is sound. I wasn't really aware of the true significance of what they call 'inactive' ingredients either until coming across so many of those types of reviews in other threads who all shared the same complaint(s). Only after noticing the trend among a variety of popular meds (such as: Adderall, Norco, Wellbutrin, and their various manufacturers) was I able to draw such a hypothesis. Browsing through a lot of threads here really paints a bigger picture on all the different products. But I do know there are also a great deal of people who don't take the time to post because they might be "ok" with whatever it is they're taking. Seems like most patients who post are usually the type of patient who may be dealing with a problem of some sort that needs a resolution rather than the other way around. So my guess is that there's probably a pretty large grey area in so far as how conclusive my hypothesis is about inactive ingredients… I've just noticed a lot of signs pinpointing it as the only possible reasoning behind the same patient reacting differently to the same dosage of active ingredients they're used to taking. I don't mean to ramble on so much, but just wanted to convey everything in the right way. Thanks for reading, and hope you all have a great rest of the evening!
Much of my Soma has come from Sun. Hey Blue Bell Ice Cream just recalled every product they make. What are you going to do. India is a filthy country and I am sure anything we read about Sun is true. Their medicine still works fine however, at least for me.
For the record Sun Pharma Xanax is excellent. I'm not sure the number of fillers or binders has anything to do with the potency of the pill?
I got soma 350mg from sun pharma last month from my pharmacy and they worked great and lasted a good 4 hrs.
Then I got my refill for this month and got Qualitest. Its only lasting 2 hrs and now I have to take two pills instead of one. Qualitest doesn't work hardly as well for the stiffness. At least for me. I know this for a fact because I only take soma a couple times a year. So I don't have a tolerance.
So are they going to stop bringing the soma from India now? Gosh I hope not.
If they do that....I'm going to order it from India!!
Thanks David! I wasn't aware fillers/binders had that much an effect on the efficacy medicine although I did know that some people have an adverse reaction to certain ingredients. I do know however that a ton of my medicine comes from Sun
"efficacy medicine "
Wish we could edit here as I forgot the words "of the". Always afraid I will time out or be blocked by the forum filter. Again thanks for the kind words David!
