Sulfameth Trimethoprim 800 160 Side Effects Burping

I've been taking this medicine for 2 days and have been burping constantly so much that it is causing mild chest pain from air build up is this ok and is it ok to take gas x or something similar

Yes, this medication can cause excess stomach acid and a gas medication or antacid may help, but it depends on the specific one you wish to take, since some may cause interactions.

Gas-X, which contains the active ingredient Simethicone isn't listed as causing any problems or interactions, but others would need to be checked individually and all such information should be double checked with your doctor or pharmacist, before taking anything.

And I also need to caution you that any chest pain should be checked out by your doctor, to be safe. While there's a good chance that it is just due to excess stomach acid causing gas, there is also a chance that it could be something more serious and only your doctor can determine that for sure.
