Sulfa Drugs In Sugar Medications, & Blood Pressure Meds?

My dad is 77 lived through 2 heart. Attacks last one being 15. Yrs. ago, survived of prostrate cancer (remission), on going colitis,and sugar issues since 1st heart attack. He was very active & on the go up until almost 3 mon. Age ... He had 2 medication Chavez at the same time .... A sugar med. & blood pressure med. we found he suddenly had no energy, not sleeping, forgetful, higher blood pressure & balance really off ..... Since all this began now he has been changed again plus insulin.... Vision suddenly worse, balance worse, no energy, suddenly as is if a 90 yr. old man .... Does hold well organized conversations, anxious , less social , weight loss , facial expression flat, driving less cuz of Vision , very depends , irritable ... Sugar 88-133 most time now ... Also appears to now have tingling in feet , legs & on back ... Only other time I saw him in such poor condition & so suddenly was when had a reaction to a medication with sulfa in it & he got very jaundice .... We Thot he was firing it was that bad prior to figuring it out .... He has in 3 mon. Gone from climbing ladders to paint to issues with walking ... Any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks Jodi

Hi, Jodi! Very sorry about what your dad is going through.

What blood pressure medication does he take?

Many of them can be traced back to various sulfa elements and may cause allergic reactions in people that are allergic to sulfa drugs.

If you can post back with more information, such as the name of the medication he takes, as well as the insulin, I'll gladly do more research for you.
