Subutex/suboxone Information (Top voted first)
UpdatedYou people have no idea about how subutex/suboxone works. 1 you don't need to wait anymore than 24 hours to start subs if using H. 2 subs are both agonist and antagonist so once you reach a certain dose they effectively block out any other opiate/opiod that you try to use. 3 taking other opiates/opiods while on subs will NOT make you sick, you just won't feel their effects due to the subs blocking properties. 4 subs are not the magic bullet for addicts as you also become dependent on them and after being on subs for a while you will find that coming off them is VERY difficult and extremely long winded, the best you can hope for is to taper down to the smallest amount you can (I'm taking crumbs here; break your pills into small pieces when you want to get off them) but even doing this will cause you to experience classic opiate/opiod withdrawal. Don't believe what the so called medical professionals tell you as they talk out of their arses. 5 subs have an extremely long half life so if you try to use another narcotic drug it will have no effect until the subs start to leave your brain (this can be anywhere from 48 - 96 hours after last sub, but may even take longer depending on your metabolism and the size of your sub habit) in my opinion people should only use subs as a quick detox tool, ie only take them for 1 or 2 weeks maximum and then get off them before you become too dependent, believe me sub withdrawal is no fun and if you stay on them for long you will find out the hardway.

I agree with everything but the part where you state that only 24hrs is needed between your last dose of opiates and your first suboxone dose.. Unless you are absolutely positive that your H isn't cut with another opiate that has a longer half life and you are positive that the what you are doing was "cooked" till all of the morphine was fully converted. It's advisable not to risk the 24 hr thing.. my Suboxone induction turned into a 3 day absolute weekend in Hell because of the poisonous advice i took from other users who had no issues taking subs with only a 24hr w/d period in-between..i waited 30hrs thinking i would be golden and by the time you know your H wasn't totally pure and/or "finished" there is no going back and you are in a pain that blows the worst case of "normal" withdrawal into lego land and nothing...NOTHING can turn precipitated withdrawal around.. no dose of opiates or further suboxone dose is going to pick your sweating, dry heaving, cramping, leg kicking and sleepless pain pod self up off the floor and make it go away.. your in it and it might last 10 hrs or 4 days..theres no way to influence the duration.. my normal opiate withdrawals do not usually include much more than agonizing back pain and the insane sleepless leg kicking.. precipitated withdrawal took that and added about 5 times the intensity along with about 10 other symptoms and all with the benefit of being forced to stay awake through every hellish hour of the ordeal.. Ive seen a few cases worse than mine and believe me mine was bad.
Damn, I was hoping this was going to be a long term thing for chronic pain. My back has too many issues to describe. Got booted out of a pain clinic for marijuana. I tried this for pain. I was only taking percocet 10 four or five times a day. S***, a quarter of this thing helps me a lot. I mean is coming off subs harder than opioids? I have to take something, been through all the steps and made it to a surgeon - he said piss off. I hurt so bad, it's either take something or eat a bullet? Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,
I know this post is old but I pray this response reaches You!
Everyone is DIFFERENT! No two people will be affected EXACTLY the same, therefore, I suggest not taking what others say in regards to what works and how it works to heart! Keep in mind, this was THEIR experience, and by sharing it, they are simply just SHARING it! It is not a be all and end all, so please don't make any quick decisions about stopping your medication because of an experience by another person!
As with many medication taken over time, there will be some withdrawal symptoms if not properly tapered. Or, there could be none! Who knows!! However, at the end of the day, we do what is best for ourselves, and show our appreciation for those that share their experiences!
