Suboxone Treatment In Michigan / Holy Cross Oakland County
UpdatedHi. It started innocent and now im in opiate hell! I moved to H and struggle to stay clean. I know suboxone is great for wd, but I feel I need it forever. ( im older, 49) lls, I hear horror stories abt sub wd. I also heard that its expensive and that drs cut you off mid treatment, which is wd hell! 1) Will it ever be affordable? 2) Holy Cross in Pontiac has a good 4 mth sub program. But can't 4 mths get u hooked on sub? 3) What other options are there besides methadone? Im scared, confused, and cannot believe how bad my life and health is. I feel like im dying. If anyone has been to HCC, can u share ur experience. If anyone's been on H and is now sober, can u share how u did it? Im at ropes end. I played rock star long enough, i want to embrace religion and follow a narrow, healthy path. Ty

Hi Jazz,
Sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with treatment. I don't have an answer to all your questions, but hopefully I can help address some of them through my own perspective...
1) "Will it ever be affordable?" - You can try using Drug Discount Cards like the one MedsChat offers (here: Rx Savings Card) for an opportunity to save 15-75% off your script every time you go the pharmacy.
2) "can't 4 mths get u hooked on sub?" - These types of drugs affect each person differently. So in terms of the amount of time it may take for someone to 'get hooked' on them, may boil down to your own mental fortitude and whether you have an addictive behavior - Not to be confused with "dependence" (i.e. depending on them due to a lack of other available treatment options?). If the duration of treatment is only supposed to take 4 months then it would probably be wise to find ways to hold yourself accountable so as to not psyche yourself into feeling like you need to continue on it well after the program is over -(mind over matter).
3) "What other options are there besides methadone?" - Suboxone, Subutex, their generics, sheer will power (some of you might scoff at this one, but people defy unreasonable odds all the time. In any situation or predicament, whether you think you can or can't, your right either way).
*The information above is not to be mistaken for medical advice, but more over a sharing of my own insight on the situation.
Hope this helps!
