What are considered therapeutic levels for driving under the influence? My boyfriend is prescribed 16mg a day but only take a total of 2 mg -4 mg daily because he just wants to feel Normal and doesn't want to b fully dependant on it.

Hi Tammy, How long has your boyfriend been on Suboxone for?
Based on what I've read, Suboxone shouldn't impair your driving ability at all once you're used to its effects.
Apparently though, they can still charge him with a DUI if for any reason he were to get himself pulled over.
So as long as he's responsible about it, he may be fine with the amount he's choosing to take now. However, only through trial and error will he truly know what dosage allows him to be fully functional and without impaired judgment.
