Suboxone Naltrexone Precipitated Withdrawal
UpdatedI was on suboxone 45 days, to help, with withdrawal if methadone. I had completely tapered myself off of methadone but, the withdrawal s was just to much to function... So I had almost an entire script of suboxone 8 milligram strips left. I taper down to .25 milligrams. My doctor told me it would be ok to start naltrexone 3 days after I stopped the suboxone. He said to take 1/4 of a 50 milligram pill. WOW that was cray it sent me straight into precipitated withdrawal... Now I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP.

Have you informed your doctor of what happened?
Usually, they do have you wait 72 hours, which means a full 3 days, taking nothing until the 4th day.
What types of symptoms are you having?
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea and abdominal cramping.
I am a nurse who works in a drug and alcohol treatment facility since 2001. We use Subutex, not Suboxone and we always wait at least 2 weeks after the last dose of Subutex before we start our clients on Naltrexone.
F*****g malpractice. At least 5-7 days. I would sue. I was near suicide in my precipitated withdrawals.
All I can say is that I had cut all the way down to a crumb of suboxone pill till one crumb lasted all day. I stopped, went 4 days with nothing and felt s***ty, I got the naltrexone pill and waited 2 more days my Dr said there was no suboxone in my my blood, so I took 25mg of naltrexone and went into full withdraw. It was the worst experience of my life. I would never touch that pill again. I would rather go threw regular withdrawal than hell on Earth. I think the pill is a lie and a way to get addicts stuck to another med. So I know everybody is different but when you have no opiates in your body and you still go through wd there's something wrong with that. Forget naltrexone.
I didn't take any suboxone for three days then I took 50mgs of naltrexone went into widthrawl if I take more suboxone will take the widthrawl away?
I was poisoned!!! 50mgs of naltrexone were sneakily given to me. I take opiates regularly and although I felt like I wanted to die, I didn't, but I'm still in precipitated withdrawal. Can you use suboxone to ease these precipitated withdrawal symptoms?
