Suboxone Help In Indianapolis

I am in Indianapolis. Is it hard to find a doctor here to prescribe suboxone? I am having a hard time finding a doctor. I have been on pain killers for years and not only want to get off them but my doctor and the whole practice is starting to deny any prescriptions for narcotics which seems to be the norm here now. I have legit pain but I would rather deal with it then be treated like a drug addict by doctors! I have tried tapering and cold turkey. I think subs are the way to go. My friend stopped using her medication with the help of subs. Can someone please give me info or help on this subject?

However, it's usually only used for those with severe addiction, so it's really going to depend on how much you've been taking. If your doses are fairly low, it may not be a good idea to go to Suboxone, since it also contains a narcotic that can be habit forming.

And yes, no longer prescribing narcotics is becoming the norm for most doctors, because of the new regulations that have been put in place restricting what they can prescribe, why they can prescribe it, how much they can prescribe and why they can prescribe it.

Have you been seeing a general practitioner? If so, that explains the issue.

Yes I have been seeing a general practitioner. And honestly, I think I can deal with the pain on my own. But since my doctor has prescribed me norco for the past three years to help with my sciatica, I am dependent on them. I would like to just be done with them. I have tried to stop on my own and I was not strong enough mentally. I have read everything possible on suboxone and therapy. I would like to try it. With my willpower and my mind made up I think I can do it now. I am not looking for a longtime suboxone therapy. I am looking for maybe 6-8 strips to help me get through with the mental cravings. I am on a low dose. 25 mil of hydro codons daily and definitely do not want to go to something stronger. Is this even possible for a doctor to prescribe a low regime like that? And I know a lot if people on here are addicted to a lot more than I am and may laugh at my situation. But I KNOW MY BODY AND MIND. I am an educated person who has done a lot of research. And I want to do this this way. People have different ways of doing things. Thank you for your time in responding Verwon! Any more info is appreciated by anyone! Thank you!

Did you ever find helo? I'm in the same boat. Been on methadone 20mg a day for 4 years. Trying to find a MD who will help me to get through the detox phase. I have been on the methadone for pain but I feel that I can manage my pain now if I can get the methadone out of my system. Having a hard time finding a physician to help. Don't know where to begin. I have good insurance. Any ideas out there?
