Suboxone For Pain Control

I have a 10 year old injury that required me to take various types of narcotics for pain control. However, my doc was arrested and lost his license to practice in calif and went to prison due to patients deaths..I immediately went into withdrawal from Norco 10/325 with dilapidated as a breakthrough med..a new doc and only doc in my area able to prescribe suboxone prescribed the sublingual strip of 8/2 three times daily with Ativan also 3 times daily..my doc had me on suboxone for 13 months..my pain levels were off the chart!..mostly bed ridden and unable to live my life as I knew it..he kept me on suboxone for pain control which wasn't working..my injury includes 21 knife wounds from a stalker/home intruder..nerve damage with post is the result..

Finally this doc decided suboxone isn't working for me as he hoped and placed me on dental patches 50 mug every 72 hours with per cocktail 10/325 for breakthrough pain..there was no weaning off the sub, he had me start the narcotics immediately and that was two weeks ago..he does see me in two week intervals..I feel better now than I have in years..I'm up and about doing things I used to do and my depression and hopelessness has subsided..has anyone else had this regime done for them like my doc is doing?

However, it looks like autocorrect had a little bit of fun with you, so can you please post back and clarify what medications you're currently taking? Did you mean Fentanyl?

And what is the 10/325? Hydrocodone/APAP or Oxycodone/APAp?

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

How can you possibly have pain beyond the chart? It only goes to 10...

I've had bones sticking out of my body... a shattered t11 and t12 complete para...

I'm on a heroic dose of oxy... 80mg 3x daily... 15mg fast acting 5 times daily and I've never registered over a 7... except that one time when I was laid up for an ulcer on as's and they decide to operate and give me an colostomy... ya... that week my pain was at 8... just cause all movement comes from my core... and to cut my core means I'm in a world of s***... on 15 mg morphine drip every 5 min... on top of the oxy I mentioned... now I take a sub a day and I'm never sick. Suboxone worked for my neuro pain and acute back pain leaving me able to function... so if I can go from that to this in a weeks time then you can do it too...

But pain is subjective and I know how you feel to be left without a way out... get a good Dr and get your needs taken care of with a good plan you and your Dr can agree to...

Make a plan... set a goal..and do it... that's all you have the power to do... make it happen. No one else will. But you. If you have support even better.. use it.. I didn't have any support or family that cared to take the time to understand what living with pain is like.
