Suboxone Cvs Won T Refill My Partial Rx

So I've been on suboxone for almost a year. I know no early fills and the whole deal. But this month it's been a fiasco.
Last month dropped my rx off at Riteaid but got partial fills. The last partial fill was for 5 strips which is 4 days but in the system the tech put that it was 12 days because of that error when I brought it to CVS this month they fill half of it and charged me full amount. (Even with insurance it costs me a hefty penny). I asked the pharmacist and tech wHy my insurance didn't cover it, and she said it was a day to early. At that time it seemed odd since I hadn't had my daily dose because I had to make my appt a day later than usual.

Frustrated they kept checking the system and told me I last filled 6 days ago for 12 days so I should be fine. I told her there is no way bc I am out of meds and somehow it was an error. So could I just have a partial fill and I will pay cash and figure it out in the am. (It was late evening).

Pharmacist is busy and knowing I could get reimbursed from insurance, I finally say I will just pay for rx. At this point pharmacist hands me back my paper rx and tells me she won't fill it at all.

I then take it to another CVS and ask for a week supply and didn't mention insurance since I hadn't fixed the previous issue. Specifically ask can I come back on Friday (it was Tuesday) for the rest of rx. Tech responded no problem.

Side note---I have a federal job so I travel a lot and constantly gone. My doctor and his staff are great in scheduling and making sure I have my meds for the periods of time I'm gone.

When I tried to refill the rest of the rx so I can pick up on Friday (regardless if I have to pay ) CVS said they can't refill it bc it's too early?

Makes zero sense to me when days earlier I could have gotten the full rx. Why is this counting as a refill. Anyone else experience this ?

I did transfer it back to rite aid since I'm leaving for another 3 weeks and will run out of meds. Should I bring in my travel info to show I'm leaving for work again ? Any advice

Generally, when it comes to controlled substances, partial fills are treated like full fills and you cannot get the remainder. To get more, a new prescription is usually required. I understand that it is inconvenient, but the DEA doesn't usually allow them to honor the remaining amount.

Thus, to avoid running out for your trip, you may need to talk to your doctor about writing a new prescription for you.

The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
