Suboxone And Methadone

i am starting on suboxone next week...one of these messages says never tell the suboxone doctor you were at one time on methadone..why is that so,if it is ?

I've never heard anyone say such a thing, nor have I read it anywhere.

I am guessing it may have come from someone that was abusing it, rather than using it for treatment.

There are many people who have successfully switched from Methadone treatment to Suboxone treatment to finally beat their addiction problems.

With Methadone, they usually end up needing a lifetime maintenance dose and never get completely drug free.

This is not true, however, of the Suboxone and for proper treatment, you should always be honest with your doctor.

iv been to several suboxone doctors and i told them i was on methadone and they had me to dose down to 30 or below than they will switch u to suboxone but i dosed down to 14mg and missed 2 days of dosing because the doctor told me to..so i did all that but i dont know what i did wrong but i went into instant withdraws when the doctor gave me my suboxone and for 3 days i took everything to try to stop the withdraw but nothing would help because the methadone was still in me and it remained in my system for 2 weeks after stoping methadone but the doc said i was supposed to have waited 2-3 days before i started taking the suboxone but i missunderstood him i guess..but it was horrible but they definately have never had any problem with anyone being on methadone at anytime cause i was still on it when i started my subs...but like i said i missed 2 days of dosing to but no i told every doctor i have been to for subs..that i have been on methadone and they dont have know problem with it and i have many family and friends who also have done the dame thing and had no problems with it..sorry so long story hope this helps u and if u have anymore questions feel free to ask :)
