Suboxone And Insurance (Top voted first)
UpdatedStarted suboxone recently and have blue cross/blue shield. Got letter from them saying I need to start councelling to stay on there program. They pick up most of cost of subs. I pay for sub dr. visits, he takes some insurance but not bcbs. Does anyone know about mandatory counceling because of insurance companys, how often you HAVE to go? I,m allready attending aa/na meetings. I,ve gotten on suboxone on my own so it,s not a court thing. Wish you all good luck.

If you're taking it for addiction treatment, then that is a government requirement that your insurance company is just enforcing, but not something they require on their own.
I'm not sure how often you would have to go, but there is a chance that your NA may count, if you can provide some type of proof that you attend those meetings regularly.

Have you tried asking your doctor for more information?
Thanks, it,s for addiction problem and I will ask insurance co. if NA meetings could count.
