Suboxone Withdrawals Long Term
UpdatedDoes anyone have long term experience with Suboxone withdrawal? Mine is really dragging out mentally. It's going on 3 months and I am still shaky, agoraphobic and I feel "stuck." I feel like I'm on about day 5 of an alcohol withdrawal-over the hump but not quite there. It's taking so long & I've GOT to crawl up out of this hole! I'm so frustrated; I don't feel like "ME"

@niele,
Sorry to hear about the drawn out symptoms...I've actually heard rumor of patients still leveling out even 6 months after stopping Suboxone. So it seems to me like the withdrawals and just getting back to normal can possibly take quite a while for some individuals. Perhaps less time for others, depending on various factors. If you have a moment to spare though, I would probably recommend browsing through some of the similar discussion threads here already started about this topic at:

Maybe some of the commentary in those threads will give you an idea of what other patients are going through as they come off Suboxone.
Hope this info helps! Try to keep strong mentally if you can!
Tramadol and gabipintin and your set. Also maybe anti depression to add to those two. I'm not even a full three months and actually doing great ! No Paws, no nothing . But that first week or two? Omg it could have been hell to say the least ,but those meds diff helped .i was on subs eight mg for 7 years. Finaly got tired of it all. A slow taper then jumped . Took me about 8 months for the taper,then finally the jump off just few short months ago. Never did any so called meetings ,or any of that NA/AA stuff. Just was done and that's that . Plus a great GP doctor who was great
I am on month seven of suboxone withdrawals. I wish I had a break then PAWS but my misery is constant. I hear from others and my toxicologist that nine months is not abnormal.
Tramadol is another opiate. Yes it will relieve symptoms but keep you addicted to opiates. Look it up.
Fentanyl is an opiate which is very strong. The answer to your question is yes it will relieve pain, however you will greatly extend your withdrawals from Suboxone as it it is also a very strong opiate. You have to make a choice to be opiate free or not. I am now in month eight and barely seeing relieve from Suboxone. My Psychiatrist had a compound mixed for me by a local drug store which is helping a great deal. I finally realized you have to deal with this on a hour by hour basis. The withdrawals weaken your immune system because of stress. To help overcome this you should take a couple naps during the day and get at least five hours sleep at night. Plan on ten to eleven months of uncomfortable living and another year to get your brain wired correctly. Remember the people who manufacture this drug and the Doctors who prescribe it have never been on it. I was for five years. Very few people recover and are able to get off of it. Basically it is a life sentence. It can be done though. I only know three people out of hundreds that have been successful in getting off. Any opiate to relieve your pain will put you back to day one. Read my other posts on this site which will give you several medications which are safe to use to assist in getting through this hell. Unfortunately there are no shortcuts.
I stopped on August 22nd, 2015. I still shake, but physical withdrawals other than that took about 8 weeks. My depression has gotten worse.
What symptoms do you or did you have? Were you on any other medicines during your withdrawal? Thats an interesting number. Longest number that I have heard confirmed by someone and not just someone saying it can happen. I am helping someone through this. They are at month one. Let me know as much as possible. Thanks
I understand where you are coming from. Did you taper? I thought this was wonderful at first , now I think it may have caused me a bad illness. Trying to kick sucks.
