When you first start it, if your doctor has calibrated the correct dosage, you should not feel any differently. It is intended to be used to prevent the withdrawal symptoms you would experience if you tried to stop cold turkey.
You may, however, experience the usual narcotic side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help you with?
I started on suboxone 4 days ago through a clinic. When I take my dose I don't have any bad side effects. I feel energized and just plain good. I'm not sure if this is what "normal" feels like because I've been using oxy for so long that I don't remember. But I think I might actually feel like a normal happy person. I have a tendency to get depressed but since I've started the subs I have not been depressed at all. I just feel great.
if i get the withdrawal symptoms when i first started the treatment...right now i'm sick as a dog from suboxen...dont know if i can make it! my first day and not even on dope i've gotten this sick...anybony familiar? how many days i have to go thru these terrible withdrawal symptoms? i've been trowing up the green from my insides...help!
I've taken Suboxone Sub Film for approximately 2 wks. And am I sorry. I had myself down to 60 mg of Morphine. My Cardiologist recommended this Addiction specialist. The first to dose made me feel " very high" after being off Morphine 16 hrs. At first he had a difficult time waking me up after repeated sternal rubs and O2 I came too. After the 3rd dose I've had withdrawal symptoms on the drug continually. I'd asked for Clonidine/Klonipin because I'd gotten of opiates without any with side affects. By the way you must be taken of the above meds slowly. Sorry I have taken Suboxone and the half life is longer than morphine. This med has helped many people but not me. After 3 phone calls he gave me Soma because of muscle/joint pain and my skin feels on fire. I'd gone back to the neurologist who got me on so much stuff but he died, but at least he got me off opiates. In the mean time I'm looking for an excellent Hypnotist. I'd had horrible migraine for years in one session plus a tape I listened to, no more migraines. But now I have headaches and I haven't had either in 4 years. If you what to go to a hypnotist interview them ,first even if it is over the phone! Don't go to someone who's just starting out, remember everyone whats clients. NOBODY who has taken even a 6 wks course is that great. I personally would look for someone who has an MFT or is a Clinical Psychologist. But I've heard of a person in my area that has neither and works on a sliding scale but I know what to look for and all think their great! And no you won't do anything you don't want too. They are talking to your unconscious mind. If your motivated you can get help.I'm very motivated..good luck. If you go on line there is a least a tape by JasonNewland.com called Reduce Pain Medication #196, Now I have no affiliation with Mr. Newland, All I know I know hypnosis has helped me. Listen to his instructions. I am not responsible for if or how you use any of his tapes.
