Sleeping Tablet Zolfresh 10mg (Top voted first)

What is the active ingredient of this tablet? How many of zolfresh 10mg are considered a normal dose?

Hi Navi, I'd sure like to hope that you're not "that person" overdosing on Zolfresh. Based on my research, 10 mgs daily of the immediate release formula is the maximum recommended dose of Zolfresh (Zolpidem). There's really no good reason for a person to take anything over that; especially 50x that!!

According to a drug monograph on wikipedia, an overdose of Zolpidem may lead to too much sedation as well as impaired respiratory function. Either of these could potentially develop into a coma, & in some cases death.

Something very important to remember or even take note of, is that Zolpidem overdosage can be remedied with what's called a benzodiazepine receptor antagonist (such as "Flumazenil"). This drug actually displaces Zolpidem from where it binds on the benzodiazepine receptor to rapidly eliminate the effects it's having on your body.

Hopefully this information can be used to help save a life!

My cousin has taken 20mg of zolfresh. Will he be ok? How long is it going to make him fall asleep for? What are the other side effects we should be aware of?

I use Zolpidem. It has truly helped me have 5-6 hours of sleep at night and I am most grateful. I was averaging 3 hours every 24 hours for nearly 40 years, I am now 70. The exhaustion and stress of not sleeping really took its toil on my health. It annoys me that I hear negative stories and rarely the good experience with Z that I have had for nearly 8 years. I have accomplished more in my senior years than I ever did when I was younger. When I awake in the mornings, gently, I usually go right into prayer thanking The Lord for the rest. I sometimes wake to occasionally go wee in the night and many times will stop and write myself a note to test my memory in the morning awaking. I really am thankful for the Z and a doctor that prescribes it and does blood tests and an office visit every three months to monitor. I was diagnosed with Lupus in 1995 and when I finally was able to get sleep...(8 years ago)..........I felt restored and more able to cope with any new flareups.
