Nateglinide is used to treat diabetes by helping to lower and control blood sugar levels. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, and hypoglycemia. It should be taken as long as your doctor deems it necessary, since there is no cure for diabetes, it can only be controlled.

Igbal, yes, Loric/Allopurinol has been known to cause elevated blood sugar levels in some people that take it. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, flatulence, visual disorders, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
