Side Effects Epitec Weight Gain (Top voted first)

Hi. I am a teacher and have children with immune deficiencies who require a lot of attention and infusions every month. I am on Wellbutrin and Prozac. He is now weaning me off the Wellbutrin and starting me slowly on epitec. First 25mg, then 50mg, then 100mg, then 150mg. He said it is to help me cope with my circumstances and make me “thicker skinned”, not because I have bipolar. I am very confused because some people say that epitec has a side effect of gaining weight and others say it has helped them lose weight. I am absolutely paranoid about putting on weight. I eat quite healthily but not when I’m stressed, and I don’t have time for exercise. Thank you, please tell me the percentage of people who gain weight on Prozac and epitec together?

Hello, Margie! How are you doing?

The NIH lists weight loss as being much more common than weight gain with this medication, though both are possible, since everyone is different. Other more common side effects as listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and mood changes.

Are these the only medications you are currently taking?

Why is the doctor worried about making you 'thicker skinned'?
