Hi I took 50mg of sertraline on Saturday and felt a bit ill then took my second tablet on the Sunday and it made me feel terrible high levels of agitation I was really bad thought something was gonna happen i felt that bad. It's now Wednesday and although I feel not to bad I still feel the drug is in my system after only two tablets and get waves of weirdness come over me it comes and goes i get sweaty hands my pupils are small slight blur on vision still too just not right but better than I was. How long does it take before the tablets leave my system so I can feel normal again ??as I can't drive or work at the moment any help from someone who knows would be appreciated thank you

Hi guys, thanks for checking in with me. Sorry for the delayed response. My kids have been sick and now have passed it on to me. I felt much better by Sunday. Had another small attack Saturday night but then not again. Was able to quit all the meds. Got sick Tuesday. Then I had another small attack yesterday. I woke up today feeling OK, although ill. About 6 hours ago, I started getting really dizzy and light headed, faint. I thought, and hoped, it was from the head congestion. I took a cold pill and ibuprofen. It got slightly better for a while. About 30 minutes ago I started getting some of the same feelings again. The warm rush through my body, tingly face and arms, anxiety, warm/sweaty/cold rushes, dizzy. I can't believe this is happening again 2 weeks after the pill. It has to be out of my system. I just took half a Xanax to see if it helps. My husband is at a football game out of town and I'm home alone with my kids. This isn't good.

Hi i think something else is going on with you. I think you need to see a primary doctor. I take sertraline and feel nothing like this. I wouldn't go to the ER , I would go to a regular doctor. When i started taking sertraline i did feel nervous but in a couple of days it went away. I now take 100 mg a day and it has helped me so much. I hope this helps. God bless and hope you feel better.

I began taking Sertraline one day and 24 hours latter starting having burning in my chest and arms not related to heartburn. I went to doctor and she didn't know what the problem was. I took two more doses and it got worse so I stopped the medicine. Last dose was 4 days ago and at times still have burning. Has anyone else had this and how long will it last.

Re: 5980 (# 24) Expand Referenced Message

Hi, I've had two 50mg and one halved to 25mg over 4 days, last one yesterday. Not taking any more, feels like living in a never-ending nightmare. Trying some diatomaceous earth to see if it will help clear my system faster.

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I did the same thing. Took only 2 Sertraline pills, one each day, and the side effects were horrible. I totally lost my memory for two days after only 2 Sertraline pills. Had a very bad headache then memory gone. I had to be told by other people what I day for 2 days. One thing was driving myself to the ER for the headache. No more Sertraline for me. Memory loss and major headache- - -NO!

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Additional side effects are amnesia and excruating headache. I lost my memory for 3 days and had a headache that put me in ER. BUT, no memory of that.

Re: CJRider (# 31) Expand Referenced Message

I had taken half doses for a week then full 25 mg doses for 2 days after the half doses. Head exploding in pain. Drove myself to ER but as I said, no memory of it. Memory gone for actually 3 days and have zero memory of going to ER. I still have to check the records at the hospital for the doctor that prescribed the medication. No explanation from the doctor why she thinks I needed this Med either. We have some not pleasant words about it.

Re: Hateplls (# 26) Expand Referenced Message

I took half of 25 mg for a week, just a mild headache. Didn't associate it with the drug until I took the full 25mg after the first week of half doses. Explosive excruciating headache. Worst experience ever. Never taking antidepressant again.

Re: Hateplls (# 26) Expand Referenced Message

That procedure is what is recommended and what I did. One half of 25 mg pill for one week then full dose after that. The full dose put me in the ER. It caused explosive headache and COMPLETE loss of memory (amnesia) for 72 hours. No, I don't take it at all now. Do NOT recommend this medication.

Re: Charlotte (# 21) Expand Referenced Message

Not everyone reacts the same to all medications. I am one of them. Sertraline 25mg put me in the ER with excruciating pain in my head and total amnesia. I'm sure the amnesia was my brain protecting me from the pain or the medication was killing my brain. One or the other. I do NOT recommend this Med for everyone especially me. Severe reactions do not go away and can be life threatening.

Re: BCR (# 15) Expand Referenced Message

I personally feel that antidepressants of any kind can be extremely dangerous. Not everyone can tolerate them. After my experience with Zoloft, I've decided that I will refuse ANY antidepressants. Explosive headache and total amnesia were my reactions to Zoloft. I can't afford to be a guinea pig for antidepressants and resent the idea that one visit to a doctor was the determining factor for the medication. Driving to the ER with total amnesia is definitely not good.

Re: Hateplls (# 26) Expand Referenced Message

Did that, one half of 25mg for a week. Supposed to acclimate my system that way. Then after graduating up to 25mg, full dose, the nightmare began. Excruciating headache and total amnesia after the headache onset on day 3. Stopped taking this dangerous med immediately.

Re: Hateplls (# 26) Expand Referenced Message

I did one half of 25mg for a week then started full dose, 25 mg. I believe that 25mg is the lowest dose sold. Had excruciating headaches from the 25 mg. Day 3 on 25 mg not only the headache but total amnesia for 4 days. NEVER again.

Take it a day at a time , you will see a difference I promise , This time of year doesnt help dark nights miserable weather etc , you MUST stop panicking yourself the brain is a weird thing , give it time to settle down even if you do feel crap at times ok ?? Alan x
