Updatedcan seroquil be a cause of mitral valve prolapse

Hi Monica,
While I haven't found any information relating Seroquel (Quetiapine) to Mitral valve prolapse, I did find "fast or irregular heartbeat" to be a severe side effect associated with this medication. I do wonder though if this side effect, in and of itself, can eventually lead to Mitral valve prolapse?
If you're experiencing any unusual or disabling side effects by taking Seroquel, then I would recommend asking your doctor about switching medications or opting for a more natural alternative to the drug. You may also want to take a look at Seroquel's list of side effects, for reference:

I hope this helps!
Can you take seroqel with a prolapsed heart valve?
