Rivitrol And Alcohol

is it very dangerous if i drink while i am on rivitrol although it is a very light dose

The active ingredient in this medication is the Benzodiazepine Clonazepam.

Yes, drinking while taking this medication can be dangerous for several reasons:

1) Drinking will aggravate existing side effects, making them occur more often and affect you stronger.

2) This drug can cause respiratory depression and alcohol also causes this, so combining the two could be extremely dangerous.

I'm suffering from Bipolar 2 and takes a lot of medication. The medication is as follows: LAMICTIN 200mg; SEROQUEL 50mg; MOLPAXIN 100mg; DORMONOCT 4mg; RIVOTRIL 1mg and EPILIM CR 500mg. All of this is taken in the evening. But I'm an alcholic now and drink so much that I black out everytime I start drinking. I can't keep a job and have lost everything. My moods are reletive stable but it seems especialy this time of year that I'm loosing control and I spend a lot of money on absolutly just alcohol. And suffers from panic attacs the following morning. Could it be that the medication triggers this kind of behavior? I have just started with the EPILIM CR and I came to relize that my sences are very sensitive and that I'm very hyperactive and aggresive. There is times that I can't even read or spell for that matter. Please I need help???
