Can I use purbac when I'm on antiretroviarl treatment and having abscess on armpits?

Hi just tested +(hiv) received my 1st med's which are purbac ds & atripla (pills).the doctor didn't explain much.I dont know wht the meds a for exactly & how a they going to help me.my other worry a the side effects (drowssiness etc) since my work involves a lot of driving & people interaction.and I also work shifts not sure when will be the right time to take my meds.last question: by taking these meds does it mean iam already on arv's??.

Hi Michael,

I did some research and I read that a high incidence of side-effects occurs in "immunocompromised" patients. Such as: those suffering from Aids or patients receiving immunosuppressive therapy. The adverse effects can include skin rash, recurrent fever, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia and raised liver enzyme values.

WIth that being said, this may not be a safe medication for you to take. Have you spoken with a doctor about this?
