What instructions were you provided regarding taking it?
Many people do, but the surgeon sometimes has them stop taking it a few days before surgery, though stopping weeks ahead of time isn't usually necessary.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
