Yes, it can cause those types of issues in some people that take it. These statin medications are very problematic and many people have experienced such severe joint and muscle aches that they had to stop taking them.
In these high temps, it might be best to speak to your doctor about adjusting something or perhaps dropping the diuretic for now.
