Please Someone Help, Can I Take My Methadone To L.a?

HI, SUPER STRESSED IM GOING TO STAY WITH FAMILY FOR 6 WEEKS WITH MY 9 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, MY WORRY IS MY PRESCRIPTION OF 80MLS METHADONE & 30MG DIAZEPAM DAILY WILL I BE ALLOWED TO TAKE THIS INTO STATES?? IT WAS A SURPRISE TRIP, FOUND OUT YESTERDAY AND WE LEAVE ON JULY 4TH??? MY DOCTOR IS NOT KEEN ON GIVING ME TABLET FORM ( IVE NO IDEA WHY??) SOMEONE PLEASE HELP AS THE DOCTORS DONT SEEM TO WANT TO!! It would be best to double check with customs, however, in most cases, you can bring a 3 month supply of any prescribed medication with you into the U.S. Things may be different for the liquid, though.

The FDA classifies Methadone as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Diazepam is a benzodiazepine that carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Oh crikey...I know the anxiety of this, having had a family holiday abroad before...and the clinic [UK] refused to give me any methadone to take away.. I went for a month.
The WD's were grim, as you can imagine..the holiday was ruined.
Next year, the clinic did allow me methadone to take abroad, and they gave me a ''to whom it may concern'' letter.
Also, you may need an ''Export licence'' [UK] from the Home Office if taking more than a certain amount of methadone out of the country.
Not sure of the specific amount, but for 80mgs a day, for a month, you'd definitely need the export licence.

The states can be a bit funny with drugs, as can Russia..[where methadone is illegal]..how did you get on?

you may have trouble getting that much from your clinic. if not, bring a letter from the clinic explaining your use of the medication. it should be treated as any other prescribed med.
